I am beyond excited to share with you these amazing images from The LANE's very first flower styling and food workshop, captured by the incredibly talented Bek Grace (her artistic eye manages to document every small detail and moment so romantically!).
I wanted our first workshop to not only be a day of food, flowers and fun, but also some simple and practical ideas of how you can work a particular colour palette into your reception and decor styling. Inspired by our love of sun drenched summer afternoons, slow burning sunsets, tangerine skies, balmy evening swims & shared meals with friends, we decided to rebelled against the Australia winter with a bold palette of all things tropical! Think fuchsia, berry, tangerine, lemon and salmon.
We sipped Pimms and lemonade on the deck of Contemporary Hotel's incredible Byron Bay Villa, overlooking Wategos Beach, (if you are planning your hens getaway or honeymoon you need to see this place!), while one of our favourite (and very patient) florist Nicole from Stem Design taught us to make floral centerpieces and flower garlands from a beautiful selection of bold blooms.
With that, we swept our tables clear, lined them with our very own flower garlands and enjoyed great company, conversation and a delicious tropical inspired lunch (and popsicles), created especially around our colour palette by Your Gourmet Catering (if you are getting married in the Byron Bay area I cannot recommend Leela enough). We kept the decor simple but bold with raw wooden tables from Little Gray Station, accented with bright mismatched cushions from Dos Ombre.
This workshop will be the first of many we are putting together for those that want to learn DIY tips for their wedding or simply love all things flowers and food. To be the first to know about dates for our next workshop, make sure you sign up to our mailing list. We will let you know as soon details are available.
I hope to see you at the next one!
