Marchesa Bridal Spring 2015.

Saturday, April 12th 2014

There are times in this job when I do really have to pinch myself and yesterday was definitely one of them, as I found myself backstage at the Marchesa Bridal Spring 2015 show. While I love attending the shows, nothing compares to the energy backstage. Hair is being blown at and nails painted simultaneously, hems are being finished, dresses steamed, models fitted and designers are overseeing every tiny detail as they anticipate the show that will bring their creative vision to life. Being given a behind the scenes look at how a show comes together and being able to capture all the intricate details, fabrics and emotion is just incredible!

My love affair with the Marchesa brand is a long one and although it is hard to pick favourites as each captures me for a different reason, Marchesa is always there. Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig’s design aesthetic always seems to be inline with my own and what I know our brides are looking for.

What I loved about this seasons bridal collection from Marchesa, was that it definitely hints at more of their ready to wear mainline vision, rather than traditional bridal looks.

My favourite looks were the ones that combined the famous Marchesa draping and use of tulle with floaty silhouettes, a blush grecian silk chiffon off-shoulder gown and a re-embroidered lace cocktail with a high embroidered neckline!

Take a look at the Marchesa Spring 2015 Bridal show and our review of the collection on The Guide.
