There's such a shift we're experiencing in bridal. A new wave of boutique labels bursting onto the scene with a fresh perspective, recognising that while we're classicists at heart, we want gowns that feel a little less cliche. We want romance that feels a little undone. It's brands like Anais Anette that have our attention, with their dreamy collections that weave together the beauty of tradition found in hand stiched details, heirloom draping and architectural precision - but blended with a clean contemporary twist. Demure long sleeve gowns in the most exquisite lace, that move a little more fluidly. Delicate embroidered details that reveal hints of skin. The Toronto based duo, sisters Magdalena and Karolina have us obsessed with their latest collection, which you can view over at the Anais Anette website and trunk show dates here.

Masterfully cut silk, falling in liquid lines. We're forever allured by the chic simplicity of slip gowns that are having a little renaisance at the moment... and no one does it quite like A La Robe designer Elizabeth Soljak, with an almost intuitive ability to scuplt fabric over a woman's silhouette. We recently shot a few of our favorites in tints of pearl and the feintest of blush, worn best with an ornate cathedral veil (But we're eyeing off a few of these peices in black worn nonchalently with sneakers or over a simple tee for any day of the week!)

Our inbox received a beautiful surprise this week, with news of a newly launched Prêt-à-Party Collection by French Bridal Designer (favourite!) Rime Arodaky. As a Ready to Wear collection inspired by all the gypsies, romantics, minimalists and rock’n’roll babes in her life, the range includes perfect pieces for bridesmaids, engagement parties, wedding brunches and honeymoons, each infused with her inimitable French flair. Think broderie anglaise separates, relaxed dresses for a sandy ceremony, black and white lace cocktail gowns and floor sweeping floral silks.
The campaign (shot in Brazil by another favourite of ours, photographer Greg Finck) exudes the same kind of dreamy sensuality as the collection itself, all breezy effortlessness, oozing joie de vivre. Just add a red lip! Explore the entire Prêt-à-Party collection here, and find the full shoot here.

Sweeping through the realm of structured bridal and overdone bohemian like a veritable breath of fresh air, Lola Varma heralds a welcomingly unexpected approach for the modern woman. Co-founded by one of our favourite photographers, Courtney Illfield, this multitalented creative explained how the collection was inspired by the momentum of brides taking control of their own style, dressing in a fashion reflective of both their personality and personal taste (rather than an outdated 'bridal ideal’).
Conceived in response to a gap she noticed over and over in the bridal market, observations honed from years spent photographing brides (in seemingly uncomfortable, highly structured gowns ill suited to the balmy, relaxed setting of an Australian Spring/Summer), the inaugural collection Salpare offers fourteen breathtakingly simple pieces, designed to be mixed and matched. In a layering of pure ivory silks and lightweight wools, the collection oozes uncomplicated elegance and effortless sensuality. Perfect for those brides who imagine their night ending with barefoot dancing beneath the stars. Explore the world of Lola Varma here and here.

We’re so excited to welcome to our LANE community one of our favourite finds from this years New York Spring Bridal week, Greek designer Christos Costarellos - a new-age master of dreamy, nostalgic styling. With exquisite laces, beadedwork and pearled embellishments that need to be seen up close to be completely appreciated, we fell immediately in love with his unique outlook on bridal, mixing the demure with the dreamy. Referencing and old world elegance, all high collars and long sleeves there’s a special lightness to these designs, and a contemporary touch, celebrating slivers of midriff or sheer silks. Explore the entire collection here, or on the Christos Costarellos website here.

A designer forever balancing light and darkness with an apparent ease, the latest (goddess channelling, Pagan inspired) collection by George Wu, Wulfilas Message is no exception. Captivated by the ethereal, dreamily dark lookbook, the imagery perfectly showcases the kind of fluid femininity and mix of romantic with unexpectedly daring details (an inherent signature of George's designs), that we've come to know and love. These embellished gowns, perfect for ethereal brides can be found by appointment, at the Brisbane based studio.
