This week we're inspired by minimalism in all it's forms. In giving gifts that convey meaning (not excess) with the Vintage Luggage Co (above) and in silk slips for brides by A La Robe, that speak to the undone beauty of women.
We're inspired by the pared back beauty and nostalgic sweetness of this meringue creation by cake designer Gillian Bell (above), and by the fluid hand of calligrapher and stationer The Blackline by Lauren, who we recently worked with on our Ocean Allure tablescape at The Avalon on the Beach (below).
And finally, as we head toward the close of 2016 and into the hope, beauty, and limitless of the new year, we pause to dream with UK boutique Ghost Orchid Bride, and this stunning Odylyne The Ceremony gown. A very Merry Christmas to you and yours x

There’s a particular kind of quality, an almost tangible signature to an artist’s touch. With perfectly imperfect script undulating across the page, there’s a level of detail and artistry that underlies the elegant whimsy of Mon Voir’s beautiful calligraphy. Lettering aside, we’re a little mesmerised by the illustrated detail of her stationery suites, by Jenna’s careful hand drawn maps (so necessary for destination weddings!) and delicate, floral motifs.

As unique as fingerprints, we’re forever fascinated by the intricacies and superfine nuances between master calligraphers. Recently unearthing a new favourite, Nice Plume creator Ailleen Fretz pens extraordinarily delicate designs, so tactile you desperately want to reach out and touch. Think undulating script, raw papery edges and a sophisticated palette, dusted with gold inclusions. Always impressed by anything a little sensory and unexpected in the world of weddings, we're completely in love with these hand penned invitations, screen sprinted onto raw edged linen, as a tactile alternative to paper.
The beautiful work of Karla Lim, handpicked LANE stationer over at Written Word Calligraphy, we especially love the mix of a traditional monogram with a more modern and free-hand approach to font. Best delivered tied with a silk ribbon!

With the potential to be slightly dull (or a little to-be-expected), 'classic' in the context of anything bridal can be an elusively tricky thing to perfect. This suite by Galina Dixon offers such a mix - an effortless blend of monochrome (white paper / black envelopes / white ink), calligraphy and monograms, of the perfectly loose, hand-penned variety, and unexpected details - think dark envelopes lined with heirloom roses. A new classicism found.
You can explore the complete collection of Galina's typography, stationery and calligraphy over on her website.
