Highlights This Month.

April at The LANE evolved in a flurry of movement. Our office-turned-studio was brimming with visionary artists as three major shoots unfolded, and we're so excited to share the results. From world-class chefs to Parisian designers and New York Bridal Fashion Week, these are our highlights from a month of compelling creativity…

Having cooked for the likes of Kate Moss and Adele, we were mesmerized as Studio Neon’s Aaron Teece took over The LANE kitchen. Unexpected flavors and inspired plating using Phendei and Batch ceramics, Cutipol cutlery and Cultiver linen, this shoot is coming soon to The LANE…

Wildflowers and delicate lace gowns... this editorial shoot had us totally mesmerized. Produced in collaboration with the incredibly talented Edwards and Co, Thanh Vo, Grandiflora, ElleryRyan StorerLucy Folk, and Sarah & Sebastian, stay tuned...

Edwards and Co transformed our office into a hair salon as they dreamt up fresh inspiration for bridal hair. Think tousled waves and unexpected up-dos, all styled on one of our favorite models, Izi Simundic, shot by Paste Studios.

In a diaphanous whirlwind of luxurious feminine silhouettes and exquisite detailing, Gritty Pretty’s Eleanor Pendleton visited our La Porte Deux home to create the stunning first look book for Pallas Collective.

The latest addition to the Pallas Couture atelier, we’re thrilled to exclusively unveil the Pallas Collective line and look book (shot by one of our favorites, Alli Oughtred!), soon on The LANE.

Set amongst the hypnotic landscapes of Queensland’s Girraween National Park, Gavin James’ portrait series has us enraptured. Think evocative frames in moody hues, an ode to lost loves and dark romance…

After months of planning and anticipation, we were finally front row and backstage as our favorite designers unveiled their new collections at New York Bridal Fashion Week, including this Mira Zwillinger creation that left us speechless.

The newest addition to Maple Soaps’ collection has us simultaneously dreaming of escaping to wildly exotic destinations and snuggling up with a cup of Earl Grey. Handmade in Sydney and beautifully packaged, their new Bay Leaf and Bergamot soap bar is refreshing to the senses and an inspired idea for favors that won’t be left on the table.

Drawn to clean lines and monochromatic styling, we’re loving the latest stationary sets from Written Word Calligraphy. Like a flawlessly tailored noir tuxedo, this set is timelessly beautiful and perfectly minimalist, with hues of ebony and highlights of pearl.

Paris with Rime Arodaky

It’s no secret creatives often prefer to be surrounded by white. It evokes a feeling of limitlessness, of purity, peace and calm, the unblemished canvas of possibility and potential, the basis for unbound creativity and clear thinking. It’s also no surprise that historically it was, and still is, the preferred option for brides and couples beginning the journey of marriage.

Stepping into the flagship boutique of designer Rime Arodaky in Paris, and peering behind the scenes of her atelier recently, we were immediately welcomed and comforted by the familiarity of the serenity she has created for herself to design from, and the experiential environment she has created for her brides. Peppered with details, textures, and elements of her style, it is a place of tranquil beauty and osmotic inspiration.

To make your appointment Monday through Saturday, email [email protected], but if you can’t get to Paris don’t worry! You can shop the collections here.

Prêt-à-Party, in Brazil

Our inbox received a beautiful surprise this week, with news of a newly launched Prêt-à-Party Collection by French Bridal Designer (favourite!) Rime Arodaky.  As a Ready to Wear collection inspired by all the gypsies, romantics, minimalists and rock’n’roll babes in her life, the range includes perfect pieces for bridesmaids, engagement parties, wedding brunches and honeymoons, each infused with her inimitable French flair. Think broderie anglaise separates, relaxed dresses for a sandy ceremony, black and white lace cocktail gowns and floor sweeping floral silks.

The campaign (shot in Brazil by another favourite of ours, photographer Greg Finck) exudes the same kind of dreamy sensuality as the collection itself, all breezy effortlessness, oozing joie de vivre. Just add a red lip! Explore the entire Prêt-à-Party collection here, and find the full shoot here.

Highlights This Week

In search of dreamscapes we’re falling down the beautiful rabbit hole that is Erich McVey’s wedding photography (above), a collection of ethereal moments, immortalised. Such dreaminess seems suited to ephemeral invitations, think spidery hand penned letters inked onto raw edge cloth (we’re obsessed with this example by Nice Plume Calligraphy below).

We’re secretly hoping for an invitation to a tropical wedding, mid-winter…inspired by the magnificent events co-ordinated by Australian company Take us to Thailand(pictured above)….our bags are practically packed! Master of effortlessly insouciant gowns (French bohemian meets rock’star chic) Rime Arodaky’s designs seem a particularly perfect sartorial answer to such spectacular seaside settings.

The organic forms of this ‘salt & pepper’ speckled diamond (pictured above) caught our breath recently. A Pippa Jayne creation, it’s like nothing we’ve ever seen, appearing as a miniature galaxy to be carried with you always - perfect for the celestially inclined.

Celebrating the chic simplicity of restraint, we’re all about the superfine impressions in this monochrome letterpressed suite (above), hand crafted by The Artisan Press, a printing institution

We continue to be inspired by the individuals we’re lucky enough to work with. Seriously passionate about creating meaningful ceremonies, of the relaxed, loved-up, true reflection of the couple variety, celebrant Megan (of The Commitment Company, pictured above) is just such an inspiration, reminding us why we do what we do.

Lastly, for those yet to organise their wedding catering (one of the best bits - don’t leave it until last!) we’re dreaming of the particularly delicious House of Arras Sparkling wine sipped on recently, celebrating the conclusion of yet another week (how can it be mid March already?). Arrange at your wedding, clustered in magnificently oversized ice filled champagne buckets, for dramatic effect. Also be sure to add it to your Wine Please gift registry, to be enjoyed long after the day! And for any Queensland based brides, check out Something for Catering, a particularly perfect option for festival style, alfresco celebrations.
