Highlights This Week

This week we're inspired by minimalism in all it's forms. In giving gifts that convey meaning (not excess) with the Vintage Luggage Co (above) and in silk slips for brides by A La Robe, that speak to the undone beauty of women.

We're inspired by the pared back beauty and nostalgic sweetness of this meringue creation by cake designer Gillian Bell (above), and by the fluid hand of calligrapher and stationer The Blackline by Lauren, who we recently worked with on our Ocean Allure tablescape at The Avalon on the Beach (below).

And finally, as we head toward the close of 2016 and into the hope, beauty, and limitless of the new year, we pause to dream with UK boutique Ghost Orchid Bride, and this stunning Odylyne The Ceremony gown. A very Merry Christmas to you and yours x

We all love to love love. That intangible feeling that our hearts quietly leap to in its various forms, radiant when alive within, joyous when unexpectedly awoken by those tangible moments, that have arterial access to our souls. We don't necessarily realise it at the time, we just perceive that warmth, that lingering blink and soft upward curve into a knowing smile, relishing in that palpable pause. These are the sub-modalties that are affecting us in every moment, and tapping into these, particularly in wedding styling decisions, is what creates incremental connections and subtle synapses that bind an event, by first binding the energies present at it.

One of our favourite ways as stylists, is through vision, depth and touch. Those textures that the eye sees, and the heart feels. It's one of the reasons we're forever drawn to the slow art of calligraphy, to a nonchalantly bound stationery suite in fine silk, to the romance of textured paper stocks. This stationery suite by Mon Voir is just the kind of love we love to love. To enquire about working with Mon Voir, see here.

Super Fine

As unique as fingerprints, we’re forever fascinated by the intricacies and superfine nuances between master calligraphers. Recently unearthing a new favourite, Nice Plume creator Ailleen Fretz pens extraordinarily delicate designs, so tactile you desperately want to reach out and touch. Think undulating script, raw papery edges and a sophisticated palette, dusted with gold inclusions.  Get in touch with Aileen about your own wedding stationery, via her website and explore more of her work here.

Molten Finishes

Forever drawn to hand touched finishes, we lost ourselves recently in the feed of new works by the ever inspiring Written Word Calligraphy. Think stamped favor bags, ribbons inked with hand penned golden vows, and molten bronze wax to seal raw edged envelopes. Each imbued with Karla’s inimitable hand, these luxe inclusions feel opulent, but effortlessly so...

Summer Suites

Forever fans of heirloom botanical prints, re-imagined as the perfect inspiration for an outdoor wedding, we’re drawn to the bold modernity of this stationery by Rachel Marvin Creative. With a monochrome base palette, tactile craft envelopes and oversized peach illustrations, it all feels unexpectedly clean, cohesive and luxe, rather than overtly whimsical or pretty. The perfect hint of a Summer celebration to come and possibly a Bellini or two…!

Brushed Gold

In the midst of our Artist Issue we’re dying over the recently spotted exquisiteness of these brushed gold lined envelopes by stationery house D&D Letterpress. All decadently dark tones of black and weathered molten metallics, they’re created by hand with no two exactly the same. We cannot imagine anything more special or beautifully unexpected for guests to open! Explore more work or get in touch about about your own stationery ideas over on the D&D Letterpress website here
