HOW WE MET: I was with two of my girl friends on our way home from a dress up pirate party on the Gold Coast. We decided to stop in at a friends house for fun with our pirate outfits on, turned out our friends weren't there but Jake was, so we got to talking and I was smitten from the start.

OUR ENGAGEMENT STORY: I came home from work one night and Jake turned the TV on, his faced popped up on the screen and he had filmed a video of himself telling me how much he loved me, he then said there was a gift under the bed. So I literally jumped off the bed and saw a sign of block letters spelling out 'MARRY ME' and the ring next to it. Of course I said yes!

MARRIAGE TO US MEANS: A bond of unbreakable, selfless love.

WEDDING LOCATION: We had our wedding at Light Space in Fortitude Valley. We really wanted an out doors wedding but it was the middle of winter so when we discovered Light Space we fell in love with the 'bring the out doors in' kind of feel that they represent perfectly. They have lots of trees, turf and draping throughout the venue so it was perfect.

THEME/STYLE: Our theme was Gypsy/ Boho with lots of persian rugs, doily's, draping, candles and incense. We wanted our guests to always be reminded of our wedding simply through a smell and the relaxed but fun vibe we had.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Our amazing photographer was Brooke Adams. I've know Brooke since Primary school and she had previously photographed Jake and I for our band 'The Decoration' so we knew she was going to be amazing. We were absolutely blown away with the stunning photos she took and couldn't have asked for a more perfect photographer.

BRIDE’S DRESS:I love the Gypsy/ Boho/ Moroccan bride so I tried to incorporate all of this into one look. My dress was from Grace Loves Lace, their whole collection is beautiful. Our engagement was too short for the ladies to make me a dress from scratch but they so kindly offered me the 'Josee' dress that they had just made. I drove down to meet with them, put the dress on and instantly felt like a princess. They were just so helpful and kind for going out of their way to help me get the dress of my dreams.

BRIDE’S SHOES: My shoes were Steve Madden, they were mushroom coloured pumps.

BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES: I wanted my bridesmaids to look & represent my favorite style, Bohemian, so I knew exactly where to find the perfect dresses. They wore the ivory 'Woodstock' maxi dress from Spell in Byron Bay. I adore their collection, their staff were so lovely and two of my bridesmaids, Georgia, Jordan and I made a fun road trip to Byron out of it.

BRIDESMAID’S SHOES: My Bridesmaids wore a pair of chunky heeled Windsor Smith shoes. Jordan had a broken ankle so we had to find a comfortable pair of heels for them all to wear.

JEWELLERY/ACCESSORIES:I knew I wanted a headpiece that represented the Moroccan bride so I got my beautiful 'Hera' headpiece from Bo and Luca who represent that style perfectly. I met with Shannon the Creative Director and before I even opened my mouth she knew exactly what I wanted. She put the 'Hera' headpiece on me and that was the one. I loved it so much! She was so kind in letting me also wear the 'Theia' belt which added the finishing touches to my whole outfit.

WEDDING RINGS:Jake designed my engagement ring and wanted to keep it classic. It's a yellow gold band with a beautiful white diamond. I clashed it with a white gold band with different sized diamonds all the way around because I didn't want to be restricted to only yellow gold. Jake's band is white gold.

GROOMSMEN ATTIRE:The Groomsmen went with a mismatched look from Roger David, they wore a navy slim fit jacked and camel slim fit chino's with brown loofas. Jake wore a navy suit with a maroon bow tie, navy suspenders and also brown loofas.

HAIR:Tenielle Melvin did a lovely job of my hair in a high messy bun.

MAKEUP:Tanielle Davies did a beautiful natural styled makeup.

STATIONERY/INVITATIONS:Our invitations were made to look like old post cards. The font looked like an old typewriter with twine tied around them. The envelope was sealed with a red wax seal.

FAVORS/BONBONNIERE: We gave the ladies a tall thin candle with their named stamped on a card tied around it with twine and the men received a brown paper bag full of chocolate & fudge also with their name stamped on a card tied around it with twine.

FLOWERS & BOUQUETS: My mum and I went shopping for flowers two days before the wedding and literally found the brightest coloured flowers we could find. my bridesmaids and I spent a few hours the next day putting the arrangements together for bouquets and table decor.

VIDEOGRAPHY: Thomas Price was our videographer and like our photographer we have worked with him before. He shot a music video for our band 'The Decoration' and we loved what he did so there was no doubt about having him video our wedding. The video looks amazing!

PREPARATION: My bridesmaids, myself and my mum got ready at my maid of honour, Georgia's house, she had a lovely champagne breakfast prepared when we all woke up and we just relaxed, listened to music and laughed all morning.

CEREMONY DÉCOR:Our ceremony decor was very rustic with a long thin red persian rug as the aisle, trees and white candles surrounded us as we said our vows and our guests sat on weathered metal chairs. We also had incense burning which helped relax us and our guests.

RECEPTION DÉCOR:We had long wooden tables and mismatched chairs with vintage plates, crystal glasses and tarnished vessels with flowers in them. There was lighting hanging from the roof. We made a little photo booth area with another persian rug, cushions scattered everywhere, lots of lace and doily's draped all around.

WEDDING PLANNER: I planned the wedding with a lot of help from my mum.

WEDDING STYLIST: Little gray station

CAKE: Our cake was a two layered lavender and white chocolate ganache flavour. It had a soft lavender colour and was displayed on a little wooden table.

WEDDING SONGS:I walked down the aisle to 'Stolen' by Dashboard Confessional

ENTERTAINMENT:Jake put together a fun upbeat dance playlist also with a variety of 70's, 80's 90's tunes.

FOOD & BEVERAGES:We had a sit down meal, it was alternate drop one dish was chicken and the other was beef.

TRANSPORT: I arrived in my uncles White Chrysler.

HONEYMOON: We still haven't been on a honeymoon but plan on going somewhere tropical.

GIFT REGISTRY: We had a wishing well.

CELEBRANT: My brother Corey Married us and also MC'd the whole wedding, our Celebrant was a lovely lady named Elizabeth Guntrip.

READINGS: We both said and wrote our own vows.

SOURCES OF INSPIRATION: Moroccan weddings were definitely my biggest inspiration.

A MEMORABLE MOMENT: My favourite moment was when I walked done the aisle, took Jakes hand and held it so tightly as if never to let go. It was such a beautiful feeling seeing him look at me with tears of joy in his eyes as he said his vows. It was the most honest feeling I've ever experienced

ONE THING I WISH I KNEW BEFORE I STARTED MY WEDDING PLANS… I wish I had of taken more help when it was offered to me.
