WEDDING LOCATION: Deux Belettes, Dalwood, NSW

THEME/STYLE: We drew inspiration from a number of sources and styles. The venue at Deux Belettes itself was very special. It has a unique mix of chic style, rustic touches and absolute luxury. We echoed those sentiments with the dress code (black tie), the menu, food and drink which was a huge focus. Even the favour boxes were on the theme. We also wanted a sense of classic, timeless elegance and the sense of a smaller gathering as opposed to a huge event. So there was a lot of white and silver, beautiful flowers, classic designs and lots of candles to keep the lighting warm. Lastly we wanted it to be fun! It was small enough to spend time with everyone, have fun with the photo booth (which always seems to be a hit at weddings) and so on.

PHOTOGRAPHY: We couldn't have asked for anyone better to be our photographer! Nat McComas was absolutely lovely to work with: so professional, yet down to earth and friendly and always doing her work with a smile on her face! She beautifully captured the essence, the moments and the magic of our day.

(Interview continued under gallery...)

BRIDE’S DRESS:  I wore an embellished gown by Jenny Packham

BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES: The bridesmaids wore pale champagne dresses sourced from a small boutique in Sydney. A rare find from one of the bridesmaids! The bridesmaids wore statement jewelled necklaces which we found at Forever New

JEWELLERY/ACCESSORIES:  I wore jewelled accessories by Jenny Packham to finish my embellished gown.

WEDDING RING STYLES: We had our rings custom made by Affinity Diamonds in Sydney.

GROOM/GROOMSMEN: The groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos by Sterling Menswear

HAIR: My hair was worn in soft loose curls by Julie Corbet

MAKEUP: I kept my makeup quite natural with a soft smoky eye

STATIONERY/INVITATIONS: We had letter press invitations created by Bespoke Letter Press

FLOWERS: We kept to an all-white pallete of mismatched white blooms by our florist Flowers on the Run. For the ceremony we placed sinlge white blooms in vintage vases and our reception tables were filled with beautiful bunches of white blooms.

CEREMONY DÉCOR DETAILS: We used dark Bentwood chairs for our ceremony from Bentwood Chair Hire Co and kept the styling very simple.

RECEPTION DECOR DETAILS: We held a marquee reception and sat in the middle of three long tables because we wanted to be in the middle of our friends and family, not isolated at a typical 'bridal party head table'. We tried to bring all of that together, and also left a lot of the final design touches to our wedding planner (Maria Birch). Overall we were absolutely thrilled with how it turned out.

WEDDING PLANNER: Our wedding was planned and styled by Maria Birch

CAKE: Panache Cakes

FOOD & DRINKS: Your Gourmet

TRANSPORT: We organised buses for guests through Luxury Transfers

HONEYMOON: Our honeymoon was in the beautiful South of France & Italian Riviera

GIFT REGISTRY: We organsised a gift registry for our guests with David Jones

CELEBRANT: Michelle Shannon

A MEMORABLE MOMENT: There were so many moments, but one thing we both laughed at a lot was running through the sparkler arch at the end before dashing in to the car. We saw photos afterwards and it looked like everyone continued to have a great time after we'd gone, and that was a fun way to end the evening for us.

ANYTHING YOU WOULD DO DIFFERENTLY: There really isn't much we would re-do! We were so lucky with the weather - it was pouring with rain either side of the wedding day but we got a full day of beautiful blue skies. However, being May in country NSW it did still get a little cold in the evening. Due to the local council restrictions we also had to end things quite early (though we started early too). To have the same event there again there's not much you can do about the noise restrictions, but we'd definitely include more heaters to keep everyone a bit warmer.

BEST ADVICE FOR PLANNING A WEDDING/TO BRIDES: Get a recommendation for a good wedding planner. Maria took a massive load of the thinking out of it, recommended music options, photographer options, and gave us further insight in to the local suppliers, managed the setup, and took complete control of proceedings on the day, while remaining pretty invisible in terms of the event itself. She was wonderful, and it meant we could just focus on enjoying the day. Enjoy the experience. Have fun and don't get too stressed throughout the planning process. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming with decisions, costs and stress. You want to look back on such a special memory and feel like you enjoyed every moment! Everyone does say it, but it does go incredibly quickly. For us it was 15-months planning, and it was gone in a wonderful 8 hours. Brilliant, but it flew by.
