Perched midway up a Tuscan hillside accessed only by a stony road is a small village, Castello di Modanella. Entering the courtyard of the beautiful 12th century castle with textural stone walls, you are instantly in awe of the breathtaking surroundings. With spectacular views over the vineyards that are nestled between a cluster of Tuscan farm houses, Castello di Modanella is the perfect setting for this symbolic Indian wedding.

We are so excited to feature Stefan & Ashwini's beautiful wedding that fuses together both families cultures and the idyllic Tuscan setting. What they have created has left us speechless. The amazing photography is by the talented photographer Lelia Scarfiotti.

HOW WE MET: We met at a very surreal work meeting, surrounded by lots of other people, talking about topics that neither of us really understood! We then exchanged lots of long emails finding out about one another, our common interests and past experiences. After a few dates, drinks and forgotten wallets, it all ended up with a very loud kiss at the Electric Cinema in Notting Hill, London - and the rest is history!

OUR ENGAGEMENT STORY: We were over in Australia in December 2012 for a friend's wedding and to spend Christmas with my brother. We decided to visit the Great Barrier Reef, so spent a few days in Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays. The setting was incredible! Beautiful beaches, everyone driving around in golf buggies, our own bungalow! After a morning out on a catamaran, followed by some yoga, sunbathing and champagne at sunset sailing around the island, we went out for dinner by the beach. And it was on our way back to our bungalow that evening that Stef stopped by our front door to propose!

MARRIAGE TO US MEANS: Sharing a lifetime of adventure with your best friend! We both love to travel and visit lots of incredible countries through our work, so we feel incredibly lucky to have met one another and share those experiences together.

WEDDING LOCATION: Castello di Modanella, Rapolano Terme, Tuscany, Italy.

THEME/STYLE: Anglo-Indo-Germanic-Italian wedding (fusing all the cultures from our families and the setting)

PHOTOGRAPHY: The day was captured by the very talented Lelia Scarfiotti. Lelia so effortlessly captured the unscripted natural moments throughout the day.

BRIDE'S DRESS: A beautiful gold Sari by Gaurav Gupta from Aashni & Co; White Dress by Alice Temperley

CEREMONY & RECEPTION DECOR: The setting included an abundance of blooms and berries in a rich warm palette; burgundy, deep red wine, fuchsia, fire-engine red, tangerine and coral are boldly contrasted against thick deep green foliage. An aisle lined with rose petals, a ribbon canopy swaying in the breeze and a floral arch entwined with rosehip berries, amaranthus, twisted willow and vines set the scene. All set within the parameters of the castle's courtyard, the reception setting boasted large round tables with elegant and simplistic crisp white tablecloths, black bentwood chairs with the focus solely on the bold colourful floral arrangements.

READINGS: First - Haruki Murakami, excerpt from South of the Border, West of the Sun; Second reading - Louis de Berniere, excerpt from Captain Corelli's Mandolin

A MEMORABLE MOMENT: Dancing for 5 hours non-stop at the end of the evening with everyone we love!

ONE THING I WISH I KNEW BEFORE I STARTED MY WEDDING PLANS… Don't take too much on and place trust in others, so you can fully enjoy the day.
