Gillian Bell Cake
Gillian Bell’s cakes are seasonal, fresh and handmade from organic and locally sourced ingredients. Her cakes are completely bespoke, with recipes developed in consultation with couples so their cake will be as unique and as special as their wedding day. Cakes with flavours like fig & violet, strawberry & elderflower or blackcurrant & white chocolate – then filled with homemade conserves, curds and buttercreams made from organic fruits & flowers grown in her own postage stamp - sized garden, or sourced from other local producers.Follow Gillian Bell Cake on Pinterest

I shot this cake by @missarahglover in the kitchen in the original shearers' quarters at Moorabinda Station. I certainly can't surf or wrangle a fire like Miss Sarah, but we can both bake a cake or two. And we believe that homemade cake, made with honest, fresh ingredients, is well worth the effort. Cake that looks like cake. Cake that begs to be eaten. This is her delicious hummingbird cake. It was a pleasure to photograph it, but even better to eat it. Thank you Sarah.
For big wedding cakes, I make each tier and construct them in situ. This is the top tier of Marie & Ryan's cake today. This tier was made with honey & lavender because these ingredients are significant to their families. #organic #local #handmade #homegrown #artisan #baker

Because of the size of our country, we can eat strawberries all year round. But local strawberries, Queensland's Ruby Gems and Camarosa varieties, are available during winter and early spring because of our mild, sunny days. These sweet beauties were picked on Friday, about an hour from where I live, and are destined for today's wedding cake.
