What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

The initial spark for Paper Paper was driven by a desire to create classic, understated stationery that appeals to various aesthetic sensibilities.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

Modern. Classic. Minimal. Refined. Design Driven. Bold Typography. Hand Lettering & Illustration elements.

What inspires your work creatively?

Our work is inspired by the couples we create for, along with wider influences of art, fashion, typography and book cover design.

Tell us about the process for couples when designing/purchasing their wedding stationery?

We take pride in simplifying and enhancing the wedding stationery process for our clients to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience from start to finish.
Typically, the process begins with completing our enquiry form where we gather requirements and the brief, including client’s mood board and inspiration. For bespoke stationery, we generally recommend a call so that we can get a deeper understanding of the direction and begin to formulate the brief.
Once confirmed, clients are onboarded into our client portal, where we manage the project using our efficient project management tools, ensuring we meet all milestones and target dates.

We then embark on the design and collaboration phase, working closely with clients to bring their vision to life. From selecting paper stocks to refining design elements, we collaborate closely, incorporating feedback to perfect the final design.
Finally, once everything is perfect, we move forward with production, packaging and shipping to the client.

What tips or advice can you share for choosing wedding stationery?

Define your aesthetic and vision from the outset. Instead of being influenced by trends, let your unique style and shared story as a couple guide your decisions. Consider custom illustrations or bespoke lettering to personalize your stationery. Keep your design consistent across all stationery items for a cohesive look from invitations to day-of stationery.

Practical considerations shouldn’t be overlooked. Set a budget and explore printing and finishing options that align with your vision and financial constraints. Make sure to include all necessary information for your guests, such as event details, RSVP instructions, and accommodation information. Additionally, plan your stationery timeline carefully, allowing ample time to work with your designer and fulfill production needs to meet your target date.

Lastly, trust your wedding stationery designer and allow for creative freedom. Giving your designer space to work their magic can lead to unexpected and interesting designs, making your stationery truly special and memorable for you and your guests.
