Dewy highlights and subtle tints of peach were featured throughout New York Fashion Week in an effortless, dulcet approach to beauty that lends organically to bridal.
Romanced by the floral accents gracing the runways, notes of lavender, orange blossom and pale rose are our go-to hues for the season. Brushed brows and eye shadows in creamy peony shades of pink and ivory, frame an otherwise bare face. Pair the softness of floral hues back with nude nails and dark lashes. Finish this romantic, understated beauty look with rose stained, just-bitten lips.
Sydney based Thanh Vo has an incredible eye for editorial make-up, creating mesmerizingly beautiful looks that enhance natural beauty. Inspired by NYFW, we asked Thanh for an expert take on the season’s most covetable beauty looks and the ultimate advice for your wedding day beauty.
What are your favorite beauty trends to emerge from NYFW?
Undoubtedly, the natural, barely-there look. Makeup that enhances one’s beauty rather than creating it. This organic look promotes individuality - brides are starting to pick up on this trend and I love it! More and more brides are asking for the natural look, focusing on radiant glowing skin and embracing their beautiful individual selves.
What is the best piece of makeup advice you have for brides?
If you do cry, dab, don’t wipe!
What must-have products does a bride need for her wedding day?
Lipstick is a must! You’ll be kissing, eating and drinking, so you’ll need it on hand to keep your lips fresh. I tend to get brides to buy their own that they can bring it with them. Also, powder! Especially if you’re getting married during a Sydney heatwave.
