Mira Zwillinger Bridal Spring 2017
Mira Zwillinger Bridal Spring 2017

In three words…Delicate. Sensual. Full Bloom.

Mood & Muse…A botanical odyssey unfolding as an ethereal, dreamlike celebration of Spring.

Highlights…A shimmering, mirage like sequinned gown, moving quicksilver like, overlaid with a scattering of botanical appliqués, its neckline and cuffs trailing into strands of single sequins in fringed formation (pictured first).

A daring, sparsely embellished sheer sheath (styled with a slip for your wedding day!) that dissolved into a floating train of feathers beneath a cut away back (pictured third in gallery).

A demure, long sleeved lace gown scattered with an assortment of appliquéd blooms around the bodice and hemline (pictured second in gallery). Ethereal and ladylike.

The collection…“After every long winter comes a Spring, inspiring new life in its wake. First buds appear on bare branches and the magic of nature unfolds. Our Spring 2017 collection is a nod to that magic”.

As one of our most anticipated shows of the week, (our minds having been veritably blown this time last year with the celestial magnificence of Stardust) Mira Zwillinger’s Spring 2017 collection Whisper of Blossom proved just as jaw dropping…an exquisitely feminine, otherworldly exploration of nature, ‘a nod to that magic’ indeed.

With two signature shapes predominantly at play (each befitting different incarnations of the Mira Zwillinger woman) gowns moved between intricately textured sleek silhouettes (realised in iridescent sequins or intricate floral appliqués) as well as dreamier, diaphanous creations, delicately embroidered around bodices. Crystal pleated tulle and clouds of featherweight bias cut chiffon moved with an unbelievable lightness….the stuff of editorial dreams!

Underpinned by a romantic sensuality, illusion necklines and suspended motifs framed collarbones, encircled shoulders and trailed down plunging backs. Revealed in a stream of unexpected details, each gown had been considered from every angle, breathtaking at every turn. Sequinned clusters, hand cut flowers and featherweight plumage, tulle capes dusted with silk petals and painstakingly applied appliquéd blooms all lent an ethereal magic to a stunningly cohesive collection. Each a unique celebration of technique and extraordinary craftsmanship, and each designed for a different woman.

Softer in sensibility than the star dusted magic of the previous collection, this season offers beautiful options for brides seeking to stray from the purity of white. A romantic palette inspired by unfurling petals, all softest blush, pale peach, shimmering silver and ivory tints brought to life across a spectrum of otherworldly, botanical gowns.

We imagine these creations drifting through the Spring gardens from which their inspiration was born, or an opulent after dark affair, befitting the sensual sequinned gowns. Best paired with uncomplicated hair, these incredible pieces require a minimal approach to accessories and an uncomplicated bouquet.
