Boldly romantic and unabashedly feminine, Fall 17/18 Haute Couture shows were filled with delicately ruffled gowns in undulating folds of weightless, ethereal fabric.
A wash of nostalgic tints in pale blush, faded nudes and creamy whites, this season had us dreaming of nuptials exchanged in ancient chapels and receptions surrounded by aged patina walls, or barefoot ceremonies on wild beaches with raw textures that mirror torn fabric edging.
Balance the drama of cascading ruffles with with sheer fabrics that reveal hints of skin, barely there makeup and sweep hair into a messy low bun or ponytail. For the more minimalist brides, play with boldly unexpected ruffle placements - a high neck or band around the waist of an otherwise chic, structured silhouette.
