Ethereal Veils

Ethereal Veils
Ethereal Veils

Carried by our current mood of serenity and an exploration of dreamily, ethereal styling, we're re-visiting the idea of a cathedral veil, enchanted by their divine, almost mystic femininity. Opting for minimalist, unfussy incarnations, free from ornate lace or embellishments, we're inspired by the ethereal simplicity found in great trailing lengths of barely-there silks, cloud like wisps of fabric almost invisible to the naked eye.

In a pure palette of tinted pales and clear whites, these sheer and airy lengths of delicate fabric evoke a dream like state, evocative of a Tim Walker photograph, unsure if it's quite grounded or not in reality. At once elegant and dramatically ethereal, these veils feel interesting, and new again (although timeless) when paired with similarly ethereal, uncomplicated gowns. We love the juxtaposition of an endless, exquisitely feminine cathedral veil, paired with the simplest of silk slips - an unexpectedly dreamy take on minimalism.

In featherweight chiffons, almost transparent in nature, and the most airily delicate silk tulles imaginable, these veils are breathtaking styled a number of different ways. Romantics may opt for the (Kate Moss'esq) femininity of a Juliet Cap style, pinned around the crown, while modernists may anchor theirs at the nape of the neck, secured into a low, effortlessly messily knot of hair.
