Ideally located between Nice & Monaco, The quiet peninsula of Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat was the dreamscape location of Maryam & David's French Riviera wedding.

With family & friends travelling from all corners of the globe, Maryam & David stretched destination wedding festivities over four separate celebrations, from a civil wedding at Cannes Town Hall followed by cocktail hour at a private beach, to an all white pre-wedding party in the Bay of Cannes where guests sipped mojitos & were transported by boat to the island, and finally a formal wedding at the grounds of La Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild.

Surrounded by turqouise seas and set amidst picturesque gardens and rose hued walls of the historic villa, the celebration perfectly captured a mood of relaxed Summer elegance.

Beautifully translating the romance of Maryam & David's wedding to film was Parisian photographer Greg Finck...

HOW WE MET: We met through work five years ago. We had been working in the same company in Paris.

OUR ENGAGEMENT STORY: David proposed during our holiday in the Maldives Islands. It was such a magical moment!

MARRIAGE TO US MEANS: Family and friends. We had one objective in mind for our wedding, indulge our loved ones and spend a timeless moment with our family and friends.

WEDDING LOCATION: We had picked La Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, in Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat, as a location for our wedding. This historic Villa is the perfect get away for a French Riviera wedding. It Is opened to the public in day time, and can be privatized for events on the evening. The gardens are picturesque and we had organized everything outdoor, from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour and the reception.

CEREMONY: Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat is the perfect location to tie the knot on the French Riviera. Ideally located between Nice and Monaco, this small peninsula calls for summer laziness, turquoise seas, and an easy-breeze lifestyle. We had dreamed of a wedding, which looked just like us, previse with many details, but also laid back in mood.

We had only one objective in mind, to please our loved one's and spend a joyful moment with our family and friends. We had prepared our wedding with the idea of surprising our guests all along the weekend. We had guests from all over the world, as our family is split at every corner of the planet. On the Friday, we first did a civil wedding at the Cannes Town Hall, and had organized an aperitive on one of Cannes private beaches. On the Saturday, we were staying at amazing Hôtel du Cap at St Jean Cap Ferrat.

After a lunch with our family, we got ready for a White Party. We had dreamed of that white party, and wanted to organize it on a small island in the Bay of Cannes. We felt like we were alone in the universe. Our guests were taken there by boat, and we attended a wonderful sunset, while drinking mojitos, chatting with our friends, and listening to some good latino music. It was our most beautiful party night and we ended up dancing on the sand!

THEME/STYLE: We wanted our wedding to be glamorous and elegant. We had organized the wedding day in 4 parts: A welcome cocktail, the ceremony, The dinner, and the dancing party.

PHOTOGRAPHY: We wanted a photographer who was able to translate this elegance in his images. Greg Finck came highly recommended and we flew him from Paris. Greg has the specificity of shooting film, and his images have been above all of our expectations. (continued under gallery)

BRIDE’S DRESS: I wore a Rime Arodaky dress. I love everything about this designer as her designs are very elegant, but with a touch of edginess. I wore the Anja model.

BRIDE’S SHOES: I wore glittered Jimmy Choos. Classic and elegant.

HAIR: Gerard Darby, hair-stylist in Cannes, did my hair. I wanted my hair loose and detached, but still with some texture for elegance.

MAKEUP: I had a very natural yet classy makeup, made by Sophie Kilian, makeup artist on the French Riviera.

STATIONERY/INVITATIONS: As our wedding weekend spent three days, we had a whole suite of invitations, designed by Mister M Studio. The first day (Friday) was the civil wedding at Cannes Town Hall, followed by a beach party. The second day was White Party on an island in the Bay of Cannes. And the Sunday was the wedding day at Villa Ephrussi.

FLOWERS & BOUQUETSWayne Riley Flowers did our flowers and we were so pleased with them. My bouquet was fantastic, with warm colours, perfectly matching the color palette of the French Riviera. The design of our tables were with softer color palettes for elegance and refinement. Pink peonies were everywhere!

PREPARATION: We were staying at amazing Hôtel du Cap in Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat. I didn’t do anything special the morning of the wedding, but I spent a moment with my bridesmaids just before the ceremony. We spent an hour together once I was ready, drinking Champagne and laughing. It was the best way to put the pressure out.

CEREMONY DÉCOR/ RECEPTION DÉCOR: We had beautiful florals for our ceremony and the ceremony was held in the gardens of la Villa Ephrussi. It’s a dream location and we got to get married in the picturesque gardens, just in front of the waterfall.

WEDDING PLANNER/ WEDDING STYLISTLavender & Rose Weddings owned the planning/designing part. These girls are gems and undoubtedly some of the best wedding planners in France. Their management of the weekend was absolutely perfect and there was no fault.

FOOD & BEVERAGES: Our caterer was Lenôtre, so the menu and wines were in the perfect French style.

ONE THING I WISH I KNEW BEFORE I STARTED MY WEDDING PLANS...! Don't plan too much. When organizing your wedding, you can be tempted to organize too many things to please your guests, and this can lead to schedule delays and epic agenda throughout the weekend.

IF I COULD GIVE OTHER BRIDES TO BE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE... Just forget everything about the plan on the day and enjoy the moment !
