“Sometimes you meet someone, and it’s so clear that the two of you, on some level belong together. As lovers, or as friends, or as family, or as something entirely different. You just work, whether you understand one another or you’re in love or you’re partners in crime. You meet these people throughout your life, out of nowhere, under the strangest circumstances, and they help you feel alive. I don’t know if that makes me believe in coincidence, or fate, or sheer blind luck, but it definitely makes me believe in something.” - Unknown
Light drenched images of bridesmaids dancing upon mystical shores. Silhouettes of a bridal party on fields burnt a magical gold. The weathered, story-filled hands of a friend helping a bride into her dress and whisperings of reassurance before she walks down the aisle.
While the romantic moments between a couple on their wedding day are the obvious choice for many photographers, some of our very favourite moments and those that are so powerful in their message are the ones that document real and honest moments of friendship between the bride and groom and their closest friends. The stirring moments that pay homage to enduring friendships that often have weathered time and evoke the strongest sense of connection.
These frames more often than not are candid, fleeting and take place in the background, observant only to the soulful eye of a real storyteller. A storyteller who watches and waits for these poetic frames capturing what no one may have seen.
If you want your wedding album to be reflective of the special relationships that you have with your friends, when you choose your photographer look for one who draws you into the bond between friends. Especially those stirring images that have an honest mood that can’t be staged.
We have included some of our favourite images from our handpicked photographers in the photo gallery below. You can see a full list of our recommended photographers on The LANE Directory.
