Black Tie Decadence

Drawing from the romanticism and fragility of lingerie, a ceremonious dance between the gentle and fierce

A dark, sensual and subversive array of gowns captivated our gaze amidst Spring Summer 2017 shows. Drawing from the romanticism and fragility of lingerie, dark gowns in Gossamer laces were juxtaposed with decedent velvets; a ceremonious dance between the gentle and fierce. A stand out this season – Alexander McQueen’s shapeshifting execution of embellishment demonstrated in finely embellished tendrils that shimmied with each step.

For guest attending any black tie occasion, the key to an all black look lies in the layering of textures. Think flocked tulles that artfully adjoin rich Chantilly laces, softening the otherwise bold depth of a midnight palette. Or heavy velvets contrasted with illusionary details of opaque blouson sleeves or unlined French lace.

Channel a Parisian elegance with a nonchalent, whispy up-do, milky beige nails and a muted smokey eye for look that is timeless and beautifully chic.
