Paris Spring ’25 Couture Fashion Week Report
When dressing becomes an indulgence – our edit of Couture Spring 2025 for black-tie events, weddings, and nights of revelry.

Couture has always been a portal to another realm. A world where gowns mesmerize, where beauty takes on transcendent forms. The Couture Spring 2025 collections unfolded like a series of dreams, each designer weaving their own narrative. Daniel Roseberry, at Schiaparelli, resurrected forgotten ribbon, transforming the past into something new. Alessandro Michele at Valentino accompanied his collection with a 200-page testament of references — aptly named Vertigineux, a nod to the dizzying creative heights he ascended. At Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri designed as if dressing delicate porcelain dolls. Ludovic de Saint Sernin, at Jean Paul Gaultier, sculpted the body into bold, dramatized proportions. Giambattista Valli played with volumes and Elie Saab enchanted with a masterful play of embellishment.
We saw the grandeur of garment’s history, the restraint of Elizabethan silhouettes, gowns bathed in gilded light, and others drenched in intricate embellishment – fringe, ribbons, embroidery, lace, ruffles, jacquards, velvets, patchwork, pleats.
This is our edit of Couture Spring 2025 – gowns for the most important of occasions, when dressing is an act of indulgence. For a black-tie event, a wedding, a night of revelry where elegance transforms into a living work of art.
Ornate Sheerness
Ethereal gossamer gowns lingered, their translucent layers revealing glimpses of skin beneath intricate embroidery. Delicate lace cascading over the body, its ornate patterns playing with shadow and light. Sheer gowns, lavishly studded with beads and crystals, shimmering while swaying down the runway.
Dramatized Silhouettes
Sculptural gowns took center stage, with exaggerated hips, oversized drapes, and sinuous S-shaped silhouettes. Voluminous ruffles cascaded in grand proportions, while bold, structured shoulders drew the eye evocative of the drama of haute couture’s most theatrical eras. Looks that exercised exaggerated form—cinched waists contrasted with sweeping skirts, while billowing sleeves and architectural folds created hypnotic plays of movement and stillness.
Decadent Embellishment
Naked gowns glistened with decadence, shimmering crystals and beads catching the light with movement. Gilded materials molded the body, their rich textures contrasting against the ethereal sheerness of the fabric. These decadent embellishments showcased the unparalleled artistry of couture, where intricate beadwork and crystals suffuse into fluid forms that glide with the body.

Reimagined Corsetry
Reimagined corsetry in asymmetrical shapes, with unexpected lines that redefined the traditional silhouette. Underneath, exposed bras add intimacy and modernity, while full pleats cascade over the structured form to create depth. Fallen shoulder corsets for effortless elegance, combining the classic with the contemporary in a bold, sensual way.
Feather Accents
Feather accents made a dramatic statement, with Jean Paul Gaultier’s showstopping feather corset gown. Feathers meticulously arranged in large, floral shapes, overlaying the body to create masterful craftsmanship. From sculptural shoulder embellishments to delicate detailing throughout, feathers added opulence and a dynamic touch to the collections.
Muted Tones
Gowns in muted tones exuded understated elegance, their neutral palette serving as a canvas for crystal embellishments. The delicate textures of ruffles and pleats falling adding dimension to simple yet sophisticated designs. These gowns, soft and refined, were transformed into opulent creations through reimagines shapes, rich fabrics and intricate accents.
Obsidian Moods
Obsidian-hued gowns enveloped the body in a mesmerizing balance of darkness and light, where sheer layers contrasted intricate embellishments that glimmered like constellations. Sculpted silhouettes with dramatic structure carved out a powerful presence, each piece a study in depth, shadow, and untamed elegance.
