About Alexandra Grecco

Alexandra released her first ready to wear collection in the Spring of 2010. Looking for a gown in advance of her own wedding in 2013, she saw an opportunity to create a bridal line and pair her aesthetic with high-quality fabrics and intricate hand-embroidery.

Launched in July 2014, the Alexandra Grecco bridal line features gowns for the less-traditional bride. Each collection stems from an organic, yet focused vision. Finding inspiration everywhere from the intricacies of architecture in the historic French Quarter, to the soft, pastel hollyhocks of Il de Ré, Alexandra's designs are continually evolving.

Behind The Brand

Describe the woman you design for…

Someone who ultimately wants to feel like herself on her wedding day. One thing we pride ourselves on is how comfortable our pieces are to wear and that is so important on a day when you should feel effortlessly beautiful. If you want to be romantic and soft in Lana, modern and sleek in Collette, or dramatic and glam in Rowan, we’re here for it all.

What is your most popular piece?

We have a lot of popular styles, but a piece we are sort of known for is our Iris gown. It is such an incredible piece with the most intricate laser-cut floral embroidery. Best of all, it is named after my daughter.

What advice would you give to brides-to-be?

Take a moment during your wedding to step away and take it all in.  One of my favorite memories from my own wedding was sitting on a bench with my mom and watching all our guests gathering and dancing, and listening to all the laughter and music from a distance.  It was only about five minutes, but for those moments, I was totally present and just felt so grateful that everyone had come together to celebrate. It’s one of my favorite memories from my wedding.

As a designer, what tips do you have for brides to get the most out of their fittings?

A skilled tailor will know what needs to be done to fit your gown to your body, so there shouldn’t be much that you as a bride need to prepare for in advance of a fitting. It’s helpful to bring the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear. Towards your last fitting, you can wear your hair the way you intend to for the big day so that you can have a full picture. Ultimately your confidence is the most important thing you can bring to your fitting (and your big day!). You will look beautiful!

Do you offer a custom design service for brides? If so, how long does it take to make a custom piece?

We don’t offer a custom design service at the moment but we do offer a number of customizations on our pieces which can result in a gown feeling quite custom. We are able to raise necklines, customize torso and skirt length, add or remove slits, split-sizing, etc.

What advice do you give to brides to care for their gown?

With every order, we provide an AG garment bag.  We recommend storing your gown in this bag and placing it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.  If the gown is embroidered, we recommend laying the garment bag flat, so the gown does not stretch over time.

Editors Notes

Why we love it…

Modern, inclusive, untamed, and spilling with New York soul, Alexandra Grecco is a designer we love for her collections bound by stripped back elegance.

Seeking a gown masterfully cut to the female form, with the option to add a made to order veil. There are no limits to what style of celebration you can pair these gowns with so allow yourself to dream outside of expectation.

Styling tips…

Ensure you try on multiple styles during your first appointment, allow yourself to be surprised by the gowns you might not have chosen. Keep an open mind, and go back to the gown in which you felt most confident, most yourself. Trust your intuition. Honor yourself by selecting a gown that will be a forever love.
