Behind the Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

Originally from the US and with a background in the medical field, I felt an absence in my life. Driven by a deep passion for design in various forms— interiors, landscape design, architecture, and art— I took a leap of faith, following my detail-oriented and soulful eye, and our creative brand was born. Recognizing a need in this region of Mexico for more creativity and a more artistic approach in the wedding industry, I set out to experiment, create, and design not just with florals, but by intertwining textures, materials, and lighting to evoke emotions through movement and composition.

Although I was not formally trained in floristry and design, I have surrounded myself with experts who have helped me learn and refine my skills, turning it into a passionate obsession. I ensure that all our designs are meticulously crafted from every angle, incorporating essential elements of design, principles, and color theory to deliver exceptional results. The more we undertake, the more we strive to push the boundaries.

Athyr Creative is a creative design production house with a team of florists, artists, designers, stylists, engineers, and producers. With 5 years of experience in the floral + interior design industry and a high level of attention to detail, we love creating events from the ground up, capturing the right aesthetic and style, sourcing ideas, and bringing that unique vision to life. By working closely with our reliable suppliers, we source all necessary elements such as stationary, furniture, table top decor to guarantee top-notch quality for couples and their guests. It is important for us to foster professional, heartfelt, and sincere relationships with all of our couples. Emotions are our driving force.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

Our design philosophy revolves around color, cohesiveness, and emotion. We specialize in creating structural, bold, timeless, and modern designs that incorporate organic freeform elements, vibrant colors, and a sense of elegance.

As a florist/wedding stylist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?

We are loving structural installations that blend florals with diverse materials like fabric, stone, ceramics, and lighting, creating dynamic pieces of art that evoke movement and visual intrigue.

What would you like to see less of?

The overplayed Boho chic style with pampas grass has become commonplace. Many brides approach us seeking the Tulum vibe of jungle greenery and pampas, and we believe in creating a jungle ambiance in diverse ways, avoiding the “same, same but slightly different” approach. It’s our responsibility to guide this design process and encourage couples to explore the possibilities fully. Additionally, waste reduction is crucial! We strive to minimize waste by reusing packing materials, repurposing florals as gifts, and composting wherever feasible. Preserving nature’s beauty allows us to continuously explore and innovate in our creations.

A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?

We emphasize the importance of asking the right questions as we invite our couples to share their true vision. Trusting us as visionaries to fulfill their dreams is crucial. Choosing vendors who inspire excitement invigorates the couple, reduces stress and allows each vendor to freely explore their creative potential.
