What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

Avelã White was born from a deeply personal journey. For over seven years, we’ve specialized in website design and branding for businesses, but the inspiration for Avelã White came during the planning of my own destination wedding in the breathtaking landscapes of Italy. Coordinating guests from around the world felt daunting, but as a designer, creating a wedding website became the natural solution. It served as the foundation for a stress-free wedding day, providing guests with seamless access to every detail they needed.

The overwhelmingly positive feedback from our guests revealed an untapped need in the wedding industry. This realization inspired me to create Avelã White – a studio devoted to helping couples design extraordinary wedding experiences while redefining the art of wedding planning.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

Our aesthetic is a seamless fusion of contemporary design and classic charm – elegant, sophisticated, and timeless. We emphasize clean lines and subtle details that radiate refinement, while tailoring every creation to reflect each couple’s unique vision. Our goal is to craft designs that are both modern and enduring, capturing the essence of their love story with grace and purpose.

What inspires your work creatively?

Our work is, above all, inspired by the unique story of each couple – their journey, their vision, and their dream of creating an unforgettable celebration. The wedding location plays a vital role, setting the tone and shaping our creative direction. Whether it’s a sun-soaked vineyard in Tuscany or a sleek rooftop in the heart of the city, each setting inspires us to design experiences that are not only visually stunning but also deeply authentic and meaningful.

Visually, we draw from a diverse and rich palette of influences. We find inspiration in vintage magazines, with their timeless typography and meticulously curated layouts, as well as in both classic and contemporary art for its emotional resonance and enduring beauty.

Editorial photography captivates us with its ability to tell a story through compelling composition, while cultural elements – traditions, patterns, or aesthetics – allow us to honor a couple’s heritage or the distinctive character of their chosen location.

Tell us about the process for couples when designing/purchasing their wedding websites?

Our process begins with a personal consultation to understand each couple’s vision and discuss how we can create the perfect package. We offer semi-custom collections for a streamlined approach and fully custom packages for a bespoke experience.

For custom packages, we start with a detailed questionnaire to capture the couple’s style and preferences, followed by a moodboard and cohesive visual identity, including fonts, colors, and a monogram that extend to stationery and other design elements. Once the foundation is set, we design the first website draft, refining it through collaborative revisions. As the wedding approaches, we update pages with fresh content to ensure everything stays current.

When the website is ready to go live, we manage all technical aspects, such as connecting a personalized domain and setting up a custom email address. For packages with RSVP and guest list management, we handle everything from sending RSVPs to organizing responses and keeping the couple updated. We also offer optional email notifications to keep guests informed of event updates.

Our aim is to deliver not just a wedding website, but a beautifully designed, functional hub that brings convenience and elegance to the couple’s special day.

What tips or advice can you share for choosing wedding website?

When selecting a wedding website, it’s important to balance functionality and design. Start by considering the experience you want to create for your guests. A well-structured website should be easy to navigate and clearly present essential details like the event schedule, location, dress code, and travel information.

The design should also reflect your wedding’s style and aesthetic, whether it’s classic, modern, or destination-inspired. Your website serves as the first impression of your wedding, setting the tone and building excitement for the big day. A cohesive, thoughtfully designed site can offer a glimpse of what’s to come while enhancing the overall anticipation.
