Behind The Brand

How would you describe your boutique in three words?

Thoughtful. Chic. Relaxed. At Bloom, there’s a thoughtfully curated, narrow range of dresses and designers. We balance between boundary-pushers and minimalist looks, everything from ball gowns to mini dresses and suit separates. Each piece serves a purpose and is designed and produced thoughtfully in small ateliers, by designers who share our same ethos for sustainability.

What is the concept behind your store?

To bring to life the concept of high fashion bridal with a sense of ease and modernity. We’re here for the women who are up for something different. Let your individuality shine while we go the extra mile to make sure your experience is relaxed & your look is uniquely yours.

What labels do you stock at the boutique? Do you also offer accessories?

At Bloom, you’ll find gowns from hard-to-find Australian and international designers, each bringing a new definition of modern bridal. Our curation is made up of designs from Newhite, Bowie Rae, Bo & Luca, L’eto, Mariana Hardwick, & For Love. Coming later this winter we have pieces from The Law, Harriette Gordon & BonBride joining us as well. We carry handmade accessories from Jennifer Behr, AB Ellie, and AM Faulkner.

What styling tips do you have for brides and their bridal party?

Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through. A lot of brides live by an unspoken rule book when it comes to bridal. At Bloom, we don’t believe there’s a certain way you should look, a wedding is a time to celebrate love and feel your best, surrounded by loved ones. We encourage our brides to separate what they think they should wear on their wedding day versus what they want to wear. Once you let your individuality guide you, that’s when then magic happens!

Where can brides find you and what do they need to know before booking an appointment?

We’re in Newstead, Brisbane, tucked in a trendy pocket right off of James Street. At Bloom, we take things slow. Bridal shouldn’t be rushed. We take the time to get to know about you, how you want to feel and what is important to you. We only have one bride (and her crew) at a time and give you 90 minutes to try on different styles, ask questions, take photos, etc. We do charge a small fee of $40, however it is waived with any purchase. Weddings can be stressful, but wedding dress shopping doesn’t need to be. Sit back and enjoy the ride, champagne in hand.

What’s your number one piece of advice for brides attending their appointment?

Remember the real reason you’re here: to find something to wear to celebrate the love you and your partner have for each other. Wear what makes you feel fabulous. Forget the rest.
