Behind The Brand

Describe the woman you design for…

She is strong, she is fashion forward yet maintains a classic and sophisticated aesthetic. She is confident of her own style and appreciates quality and refined details.

What is your most popular piece?

Thats a hard one. We started with our most popular piece being our intricately beaded, tulle based “Claudette gown” but within the past 2 years, a minimalist ball gown created for our bride “Lauren” would have to be it! We approached the design with a less is more concept.

What advice would you give to brides-to-be?

Align yourself with suppliers/vendors who are on the same page aesthetic wise. When you choose the right team, you’ll form a connection and a sense of trust which will make the experience super relaxed and fun.

Choose a gown that represents your personality, overall style and one that you’ll look back and think “Yes, that’s still me.”

As a designer, what tips do you have for brides to get the most out of their fittings?

When we think fittings, we think of the whole concept from design/gown and overall styling. As we progress throughout the process, it’s important to think about the story you want your wedding to portray and how we can style your gown to be apart of that. If you’re a bride who likes to accessorise, sometimes it’s best to start with shoes and style/design around that! Bring a max of two friends or family to your fittings who’s opinions you trust just so it doesn’t become to over whelming.

Do you offer a custom design service for brides? If so, how long does it take to make a custom piece?

All of our gowns begin via a bespoke/custom process. We meet and book in brides approximately 13 months before the big day and discuss the overall aesthetic of the wedding and their dream dress. It’s a MUST for brides to meet their designer, it’s a chance for us to meet the bride and understand their design brief. Approximately 7/8 months before the wedding, brides will come in for their first design consult and the rest is history! We begin physical construction at the 6 month mark with 3/4 fittings during this time. Launching NOV 2019 we will be offering a few off the rack pieces.

What advice do you give to brides to care for their gown?

When having your gown custom created it’s imperative to follow a guideline advised by your designer for your specific design. Gowns must always be hung/supported by the hanging tape located on the side seams to prevent any stretching, otherwise if beaded it must always lay flat or folded in white acid free tissue paper. Ask your designer for a trusted dry cleaner and have your gown cleaned as soon as possible to prevent any stains setting into your fabric. Once cleaned, keep it folded/boxed, or hung and away from direct light or warm temperatures.
