Behind The Brand
What are some of your favorite beauty products you like to use for brides?
My favorite beauty products I like to use for brides are a mix of skincare, creamy, and waterproof products coming from multiple brands. Dermina skin lotion, REN canva base de teint, Lancome serum and mask are a small representative sample of products I use for the skin. Chanel Illusion d’ombre, Charlotte Thilbury eyeshadows, NARS bronzers/lips products/liquid blushes, and Mac cosmetics concealers are my favorite makeup products. I love a hybrid of textures and creamy products for a fresh result. One of my most important rules is to use waterproof products.
What is your process of conceptualizing hair and makeup looks with brides and bridesmaids ahead of the wedding day?
The hair and makeup looks are conceptualized many months before the day, through many email discussions. I select a portrait of my bride, have a vision, and begin to learn about her way of life, her fashion and art tastes, her type of skin, and her makeup routine.
By the time the trial approaches, we’ll know each other and which type of look we will try – I never leave my future bride in doubt! The goal is to finish our trial knowing the exact look that will be done on the day. Kindness, inspiration, and vision give rhythm to preparing my beauty and hair looks.
What’s your advice for brides when deciding on bridal hair and makeup looks?
Inspire your soul! Use a mood board, talk with textures and colors…collect images, and let’s talk about it. What are your makeup habits, type of hair? Do you want to wear accessories? Ask yourself these questions, and imagine the perfect look for your wedding! Your hair and makeup artist is here to help you uncover the detail that will enhance your natural beauty.
What tips, tricks or advice do you have for brides to increase the longevity of their bridal look throughout the wedding day?
Create your personalized retouch kit with a lipstick you can use on lips and cheeks for quick color retouches, blotting papers, and bobby pins. Good skin preparation and waterproof products should help for the longevity of your makeup during the day.
Do you travel for weddings?
I frequently travel for weddings! I had the chance to discover the incredible Rajasthan, Toscane, and different European destinations for weddings. Most of my clients are celebrating their wedding in Provence, but destination weddings are a real option.
