Behind The Brand

How would you describe your photography style?

My photography style is a mix of creative documentary and editorial portraiture with what I call a touch of that cinematic style. I like to create ethereal, quality images that always honor those real-life and soulful moments, moments that are perfectly imperfect and make life worth living. My aim is to also bring a sense of timeless beauty and understated elegance. I want to make everyone feel exceptional even if I’ve only met them for as long as it took to take a picture. I aspire for my images to be a testament to the beauty that lies beneath the surface.

What is it that makes an image magical?

For me, a magical image will combine great light and genuine emotion, but also embraces the beauty of the perfectly imperfect.

What advice would you give to the camera-shy couple?

Once you’ve found your dream photographer, trust them and let them guide you. The best thing a couple can do for me is allow themselves to be in the moment. The magic happens when they are in the ‘now’, embracing their emotions, taking it all in, and enjoying the day to the fullest. I will be there to make them feel at ease and guide them to create great imagery.

Do you travel interstate or internationally?

I am based in London and travel globally.

As an estimate, how long does your editing process take?

My standard delivery time is 8-10 weeks because in the high of the season, I like to have time to “digest” the shooting and come back to it with a fresh mind. In an ideal world, where I only had to edit with good music and nice coffee, I would edit a wedding in full in 2/3 days.

Describe a magical moment from a wedding you’ve photographed…

It’s hard to pick just one…I would say that I often get all the ‘feels’ when I see the dad interact with their daughter or son on the wedding day. I lost my father quite young, so I often will have tears in my eyes when I get to witness a special moment. There was one wedding where the father of the groom was terminally ill. He was at the wedding and you wouldn’t have known if nobody had told you. But the couple made me aware of this. At the end of the groom’s speech, he stood up with his dad and brother, and the three of them hugged each other. There was so much love, I could see the emotions in their embrace and through the whole room. I often think of this moment…about the family heirlooms we create for our couples. It reminds me that some photographs might not be noticed as much today, but will gain value as time passes. Images that might not get all the likes today, but will truly be cherished by our couples in 40 years…
