What was the spark for beginning your brand?

What drives me is a high-fashion vision, and nothing brings me more joy than dressing women for life’s special moments. While working with brides at The LOFT Bridal, I recognized a gap in the market for an edgy luxury bridal accessories brand. There’s nothing quite as transformational as a veil—it’s the accessory that creates unforgettable moments, the crowning touch for a truly stunning walk down the aisle. And that’s the spark!

What inspires you creatively?

Architecture is a very important source of inspiration to me. I approach fashion with an architectural lens, blending cutting-edge materials and textures to craft striking pieces. Fabrics are pleated, folded, and layered, creating a three-dimensional aesthetic that harmonizes softness with structural elegance. It’s all about experimenting and exploring.

A favorite quote or piece of advice that inspires your creative work?

“There are 360 degrees, so why stick to one?” – Zaha Hadid

Zaha inspires me to explore endless possibilities in design. At The LOFT Bridal & Jacqueline Au Studio, I believe in pushing boundaries and thinking beyond convention to create unique bridal experiences. Every bride deserves to express her individuality, and I strive to create designs that reflect the diverse stories and styles of each woman who walks through our doors.

What advice can you give to brides when shopping for their dress?

If I could give brides one key piece of advice, it would be to begin with the silhouette: it’s the foundation of your entire look and the key to feeling your best on your special day. Once you’ve found the shape that complements your figure, layer in the details: veils and gloves that resonate with your personal style. Choose pieces that tell your story and embrace customizations like our personalized veil embroideries. These personal touches will beautifully reflect your unique journey as a couple.

What are you drawn to in bridal right now? And what would you love to see less of?

I’m captivated by the wave of ready-to-wear designers reshaping the bridal scene with fresh, relevant designs that pair perfectly with our editorial and high-fashion veils – Christopher Esber, Richard Quinn, Vivienne Westwood, Toni Maticevski. Haute couture inspiration remains strong, offering brides a sophisticated edge.

On the flip side, I’d love to see less of the overly sexy and sheer pieces. With bridal, I feel that elegance is key, and the focus should always be on timeless beauty.
