Spread over two and a half acres it is now dedicated to hosting exceptional moments and love stories. A secluded location, 5 km from Mexico's trendiest Caribbean coast resort, Kima Tulum is a versatile venue where even the wildest ideas can come to life, and where guests once transported, leave enchanted. 

Behind The Brand

What was the initial spark for the property and how did it all begin?

Kima Tulum began as a love story between two French individuals, Dorothee and Enzo, who fell in love in Hawaii and chose to settle in their favorite place in the world: Tulum. With a deep sense of hospitality and a passion for simplicity and beauty, they started by creating a guest house to share the natural beauty of the jungle.

They found the perfect location—a pristine, lush, and remote piece of land that immediately captivated them with its energy.

They began by building an access road, followed by one house and then another, to accommodate guests seeking a different Tulum experience from around the world. The idea to host weddings emerged during a conversation with a guest who was enchanted by what she discovered.

From there, they started developing gathering spaces while preserving the lush natural surroundings that define Kima. Their off-grid jungle home organically evolved into a full-time wedding venue, capable of hosting up to 140 guests today.

What spaces do you offer for a wedding or event?

Our property offers diverse spaces that couples can adapt according to their vision. Some prefer the untamed jungle as a backdrop for their ceremony or reception, while others opt to dine around our pool and Mediterranean-inspired home.

Each event has distinct spaces, facilitating seamless transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and the party, creating a fluid experience through the jungle setting.

The original rooms have been transformed for final preparations and often serve as sleekly designed backdrops for portraits. Our handcrafted stone and zinc bar, extending from a grand fireplace, is where expert mixologists craft each guest’s favorite drinks. The jungle dance floor invites guests to dance under the starry Riviera Maya sky.

Guests and the wedding party can explore unique jungle spots for fabulous and distinctive photo opportunities. Many celebrations conclude with a refreshing pool party.

We cater to events ranging from elopements to gatherings of up to 140 guests.

We take this responsibility seriously, as our initial desire to share our love for this unique landscape has grown with every couple who chooses to marry here, experiencing the generous and special energy of this tamed jungle.

Visitors are not coincidental; they seek to commune with nature in its exceptional form. They also appreciate the ‘savoir-faire’ and ‘French touch’ we bring, rooted in luxury goods and hospitality. We are deeply involved in every detail of these moments shared with guests, welcoming creative challenges to manifest couples’ visions while respecting nature.

It’s challenging to pinpoint a single element. The land’s energy, our dedicated staff, our vendor-turned-friend relationships, and the couples who choose us—all contribute to the magical experience described by everyone who has visited.

What advice do you give couples when selecting their venue?

Trust your instincts and intuition. Ideally, you should feel a deep sense of knowing that this venue is the perfect place for your wedding.

Practically, the closer the venue aligns with your desired look and feel, the easier and more cost-effective it will be to decorate. Choose a venue congruent with your vision—opt for a pristine ballroom for a formal affair or a relaxed outdoor setting for a casual vibe.
