About Lei é Design

Lei é is a boutique jewellery studio based in Sydney, Australia.

Designed by Renee Sieff, each piece marries the individuality of natural, unheated gemstones with those unique identifying personality traits of all types of women.

Lei è, meaning 'she is'. The Lei é woman is bold; she is unique; she is courageous; she is beautiful.

Behind The Brand

Where are your gemstones and diamonds sourced from?

We source stones from mines all over the world. Different countries produce their own unique stones with individual characteristics that tell a story. An important aspect of our brand mission is to allow stones to remain untreated in their beautiful, natural colours.
We primarily source rough stones and have them precision cut by the Lei è stone cutter. This allows us to have further control to ensure no treatment of the stones giving us an amazing opportunity to choose unique cuts that speak to our designs.

Do you offer a custom design service? If so, how long does it take to make a custom piece?

We do offer a custom design service. In fact, we prefer it! As each gemstone is so unique, we want to make something that complements the stone as well as suits the client. We require about 6-8 weeks for a custom ring. During this time the customer can track the production progress of the ring, including seeing footage of the process, from beginning to completion.

What is your most popular piece?

I wouldn’t say we have a “most popular” design, as the majority of our pieces are bespoke. However, I feel our design style that attracts the most attention from customers would be our asymmetrical diamond clusters with a unique centered colour gemstone.

What advice would you give to a couple looking for their wedding jewelry?

The best advice I give customers is to, ‘buy more rings’. Sounds like a sales pitch, I know, but let me explain.
I see partners stressing over buying the most expensive ring once and then never again. I say buy something that you can afford in this season, as it’s the significance of the ring that is important. Remember also, that the engagement ring will only be by itself for (hopefully) a few months. Consider the pairing of an amazing wedding band, which will allow you to save on the engagement ring. Then reward each other on the way throughout your marriage. Perhaps celebrate with another ring when you’ve hit your 10th, 20th, and 50th year anniversary! I want our customers’ marriage to be set up for a win.

What tips do you have for couples to care for their jewelry?

Be gentle with your ring. Yes, the ring is durable but it’s still a delicate piece. So don’t wear it to the gym. Please.
