Behind The Brand

Where are your gemstones and diamonds sourced from?

We work with local Melbourne diamond and gemstone suppliers who we trust to source ethically. This includes both natural diamonds as well as lab created. We are very fortunate to have a local industry here in Australia that is regulated and trustworthy. We also work with our client’s own and heirloom stones.

Do you offer a custom design service? If so, how long does it take to make a custom piece?

Yes, we offer a bespoke design experience that involves in-studio or online consultations from our Melbourne studio. We love taking our clients through the intimate process of making jewelry. For many, it’s the first time they have experienced this process. We spend time with you, immersing you into the world of jewelry. From the technical elements of stone sourcing and material process, through to the early conceptual stages of design concept and completion. We involve you in each step of our process to the finished piece. Being a small studio, we take time to create a unique piece. Depending on the studio schedule and complexity of the design the process takes between 4-12 weeks.

What is your most popular piece?

The unique sculptural forms are what attract most people to our work. Emerald cut, oval and pear diamonds in white, yellow, and cognac are studio favourites. This piece, in particular, is very popular – an Argyle sourced emerald-cut cognac diamond on a sculptural band.

What advice would you give to a couple looking for their wedding jewelry?

Creating something that embodies your style, and is a reflection of you should be your foremost consideration. We find this is what makes something so special and personal. You will know when you have found the right piece so try not to overthink it.

What tips do you have for couples to care for their jewelry?

I always tell people to wear it as your grandmother would have worn her jewelry. The more you care for your piece, the nicer it will look. We personally have a few beautiful trays around the house, next to the bathroom sink, kitchen sink and bed, where I rest my pieces when doing hard work with my hands. This keeps them looking new and scratch-free.

You can also clean the surface with a mixture of warm water, eucalyptus oil, dishwashing detergent and a soft hair toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately. We offer complimentary cleaning on all pieces and recommend bringing your piece in every 12 months for a check-up and clean or plating.

Editor’s Notes

Why we love it…

Effortlessly understated timeless heirlooms. Lott Studio’s pieces are nothing short of wearable art, crafted with minimal yet intentional design using exquisite stones and precious metals. We love the poetic fluidity of their pieces.

For the bride…

For the modern bride drawn to all that is minimalist and artistic, who seek an intimate connection to her jewelry pieces both on a personal and creative level. Soulfully aligned to those who steer away from conventional designers in search of something wholly unexpected and beautifully unique.

Styling tips…

Taking your cue from Lott’s simple yet inimitable aesthetic, opt for pared-back bridal fashion to allow room for more jewelry designs (we love the /443 Bracelet and the /310 Pearl Earring ), and letting their artistry also take the spotlight. Consider an understand slip-style dress elegantly crafted from liquid-like silk, dewy makeup and a sleek, low bun.
