Behind The Brand
What was the spark for beginning your brand?
After years of handcrafting bridal headpieces under my self-made label, Teeki Designs, it was only natural to take things further in the bridal industry.
With an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design and extensive experience in pattern making and sewing, I wanted to use my skills and passion to create something truly special – Love Marie Bridal Boutique. Having a deep understanding of gown construction and the possibilities for custom fittings has given the boutique a unique edge. I truly believe this knowledge, combined with my unwavering passion for helping brides feel and look their absolute best, sets Love Marie apart.
When I launched Love Marie 10 years ago, few boutiques in Australia were importing bridal brands or pushing the boundaries in brand selection. Many of the designers I worked with for magazine editorials – or wanted to feature – weren’t even available in the country! I saw a gap in the market and pursued it, curating a collection that included both international labels and exceptional Melbourne-based designers who lacked flagship store representation in Sydney.
What inspires you creatively?
With an innate passion for the arts, fashion, styling, and creativity, I truly believe it runs in my veins. Throughout my education, I was naturally drawn to arts-based subjects, always seeking ways to express my individuality. I’ve always been driven to stand apart from the norm – yet never so far that I lose sight of classic and timeless elegance.
Fashion icons like the late Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood have always inspired me. McQueen’s designs embodied confidence and independence, empowering women with strength and authority that extended beyond aesthetics. His creations celebrated those unafraid to embrace their individuality, step boldly into the unknown, and redefine beauty on their own terms.
A favorite quote or piece of advice that inspires your creative work?
“I am seeking. I am striving. I am in it with all my heart.” – Vincent Van Gogh
Anyone who knows me or has experienced Love Marie would likely agree—this is me to the core. I pour my heart into everything I do, always.

This sentiment resonates deeply. Starting a business, trusting your creative instincts, and standing by your vision requires immense courage—every single day.
What advice can you give to brides when shopping for their dress?
Trust your heart and instincts. Don’t feel pressured to impress others or seek validation from everyone—because the truth is, not everyone will love the same choice. Sometimes, your entourage views dresses through the lens of their own taste rather than yours. But this is your moment, and your individuality is what makes you uniquely you. Your friends and family should respect, support, and encourage that.
And don’t be afraid to come in on your own! Love Marie is a comfortable and private space where you can fully absorb your thoughts and emotions – without outside influence. Once you’ve found your favorite (or a few favorites!), you can bring along those closest to you for that “Yes to the dress!“ moment — if you wish!
What are you drawn to in bridal right now? And what would you love to see less of?
I am endlessly inspired by the creative freedom in this industry. Brides have the power to choose anything – lace, beads, texture, or simplicity – paired with silhouettes that reflect their vision and suit their location. There are no rules. Be you!
What I wish there was less of… Every day, I witness body shaming from family and friends toward brides, tarnishing what should be a joyful, love-filled experience. It breaks my heart. I can’t understand it, and it hurts to see.
You are beautiful exactly as you are. Your dress should celebrate you, highlighting your confidence and making you feel incredible. Choose the dress you don’t want to take off, the one that makes you feel radiant from the moment you put it on. Don’t settle for a dress you feel you need to change yourself to wear with confidence – she isn’t the one.
