Behind The Brand
How would you describe your photography style?
Our style is minimal and refined for the modern romantic. Inspired by your story and sensibilities, we make imagery for you with a sophisticated and beautifully clean aesthetic. We believe in less is more and that some of the most considered images we’ve created come from restraint and simplicity. We’re drawn to finding beauty in quiet, understated moments of elegance and romance – often evoking feelings of warmth, intimacy and balance.
What is it that makes an image magical?
Connection and good light. There is no substitute for these to making an image feel magical. And while location is important, documenting an effortless and timeless connection between you and your lover in captivating light is what we want to have you treasure and remember.
What advice would you give to the camera-shy couple?
Our simple advice is to build a trustworthy relationship with each other. We’re invested in taking the time to make you feel comfortable, and to create an environment where you can naturally relax and express the essence and individuality of you as a couple. When you enquire with us, we begin with an informal meeting or call, where we can get to know each other and we mainly listen, to get a deeper sense about who you are and the wishes that you have for your special day. Only then can we establish an emotional connection, open mind, a truth, and closeness in order to make impactful and intimate imagery together.
Do you travel interstate or internationally?
Yes, we certainly do. Our passports are ready. So, no matter where in the world, wherever your heart desires, let’s celebrate and capture your love in a place you love.
As an estimate, how long does your editing process take?
A few days after your wedding, we love to deliver a handful of images for you to share with family and friends. Our delivery time for your full gallery is typically between 4-6 weeks after your wedding.
Describe a magical moment from a wedding you’ve photographed…
We recognise every love story is unique and there is magic to be found in every wedding, often in the unplanned moments. On one occasion, we were asked by our couple to create meaningful portraits for them, but with an out of this world feel. What we found near their wedding venue was unforgettable, sand dunes – a vast yet simple location, so engaging yet stripped back. But the moments that unfolded out on the dunes were real and unrivalled. The couple so naturally embraced each other and their surroundings. It was more beautiful than we dared ourselves to believe. Nothing of the time we spent out there could be planned yet it perfectly fell into place. The images made truly represent what we’re about because we have put what we loved into it and it speaks to us.
Why we love it…
Infused with a chic simplicity, Lover of Mine are masters of the ‘less is more’ approach. Artfully navigating light and shadow, their images are intuitively composed, spilling with emotion and cinematic beauty.
For the couple…
For the modern couple seeking clean, contemporary photographs that sing with elegant simplicity and honesty.
Lover of Mine’s style suits a minimal theme. Think natural light, urban surrounds or empty landscapes intentionally styled in a muted palette.
