About Margaux Tardits
Since 2015, Margaux Tardits designs elegant couture wedding dresses with a contemporary edge. A far cry from the dictates of fashion, she chooses style, sophistication and timelessness over passing trends. Her dresses are bold but never provocative.
The designer loves women’s bodies, she loves to enhance them and highlight their curves. She chooses structure rather than flowing lines. Figures are defined and waists marked thanks to exceptional materials and finishes.
Margaux Tardits appeals to brides at the four corners of the globe. Confident, free-spirited women who are looking to celebrate the best day of their life with style and glamour – that incredibly French blend of charm, sophistication and naturalness that subtly shakes up convention.
Behind The Brand
What is your most popular piece?
What advice would you give to brides-to-be?
Letting go and accept that everything won’t be perfect! Just enjoy!
As a designer, what tips do you have for brides to get the most out of their fittings?
I would recommend to come with only one or two people and to listen to your gut. Come with an open mind and try on dresses you might not have thought to try. We are here to help and advise you.
Do you offer a custom design service for brides? If so, how long does it take to make a custom piece?
I only do when I like the project. I discuss with the bride about her ideas, what materials, fabric, shapes… and I draw her some sketches, then we see if it’s match or not.
For a custom piece we need to do more fittings because we go over the “toile” stage. It mean that the bride will have first to fit her own dress in a cotton fabric to be sure of the shape.
What advice do you give to brides to care for their gown?
I would advise her to entrust her dress to a very good dry cleaner and after that to keep it in a safe, dry and dark place. With no plastic (it will choke the fabric)!
Why we love it…
A label that embodies everything we love about French designers – exquisite, delicately handmade French fabrics, intricate detailing and elegant silhouettes.
For the bride…
Who is a classicist at heart, looking for elegant, refined gowns using the most exquisite handmade French lace and fabrics.
Draw from the French aesthetic and wear these gowns with insouciance – contrast the elegance and classicism with the romance of loose undone hair, wear embroidered gowns barefoot on a beach, and juxtapose romantic silhouettes against ageing reception facades.
