Behind The Brand
How would you describe your videography style?
Candid, natural, cinematic, bright and fun!
What is it that makes a wedding film magical?
The connection between the couple and the filmmaker. It’s really important we get to know each other but also keep our distance on the day. The key ingredients for magical moments are really simple.
How do you select music to accompany your footage?
I’m going to confess, this is probably the hardest part of the job, but also the most rewarding. We are searching for a song that matches the energy of the day. Encapsulating the moments to a song that is honest and timeless. Sometimes it takes a day, sometimes weeks…but we search endlessly until we know it’s right.
Do you travel interstate or internationally?
I am actually sitting at a cafe in Florence, Italy as I write this message. Our team travel for the majority of the year but our home bases are London & Melbourne.
As an estimate, how long does your editing process take?
I would say on average, 3-4 weeks…we’re quick but we also like to make sure every team member watches the Highlight Films for the tick of approval before sharing with the couple.
Describe a magical moment from a wedding you’ve captured…
There are simply too many to recount but I will share some recent memories; Matilda & Arthur announcing their baby news to all of their guests in New Zealand. Birds bathing in the pool water during the photoshoot in Ravello for Amila & Robbie’s wedding. Doug crying with uncontrollable joy as he watched Laice walk down the aisle.
Charms & Sudesh’s beautiful Sri Lankan ceremony, fighting back tears and laughter.
