About Nunu Designs

We are a team of Florists and Stylists who love creating maximum Impact with our Big Floral Moments, but our investment in your Wedding Day goes far beyond a visual experience. We see every arrangement as a piece of art.

While our concepts are collaborative and we’re often inspired by a mood board, we usually work off a feeling. The atmosphere our couples want to create and the experience they dream of enjoying with their guests. Every element of our designs is considered and serve a purpose. Fragrances, aesthetics and sentimental value, just to name a few!

Behind The Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

We have always been drawn to the creative Industry and constantly obsessed with flowers and design. Whenever I hear the word Nunu (also my nickname), I think back to the easy joy of being a child. The unfiltered adoration of frolicking around with friends and picking flowers from the garden. I was so amazed and enchanted by the world around me; my imagination constantly running wild.

Growing up and learning about the different dynamics of adult life can shade that light sometimes, but I find the sensory experience of flowers still improves the mood of every space.

Becoming a Florist has given me endless opportunities to recreate that same sense of unguarded joy for my couples. Not only through reimagining creative concepts and breathing new life into blank canvases, but by giving them a new version of the world to call their own.

What services do you offer couples?

All our designs start with a shape. After getting a feel for the space and surroundings, we move consciously in the direction of impact. Whether we’re complimenting a natural curve or working with structural lines, our aim is to create statement arrangements that appear to be growing wild and flourishing in their natural habitat. Think: overflowing arbours, tumbling tablescapes and hanging installations that seem suspended in the sky.

We also offer our full-scale floral clients boutique styling to complement their Big Floral Moments. Candle ware, custom stationary and hire items are available on request.

A Florist’s favourite moment is seeing their clients react. When our couples see their spaces for the first time, we want jaws on floors and will settle for nothing less!

How would you describe your aesthetic?

We are actively seeking unique features; completely obsessed with anything that strays from ‘The Standard’. We’re immediately drawn to winding branches, interesting textures or single stems dotted in different colours, representing subtle connections to the characteristics of our couples.

As a florist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?

We are loving the extra elements and textures that are being added. Loving the movement that draping Is creating and in all different types of fabrics. The fruit and vegetables that are also adding so many interesting elements to tablescapes.

What would you like to see less of?

Every couple’s wedding is so unique to themselves. There isn’t anything that sticks out that we would like to see less of. We always love to take a brief and give It that Nunu Flair.

A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?

Definitely to have fun and ask as many questions as you need to so that stress levels remain low. Your vendors organise and attend weddings every weekend so use them to your advantage. In saying this also trust your vendors. You pick them for a reason and the more trust you give them the better the entire day will be, and you can relax knowing everything is taken care of. I know I absolutely love my job and when I know the couple also love my work too it just makes me automatically go that extra mile.

Have a great Plan B. Mother nature is one thing that we unfortunately cannot control. Everyone will always want the Initial ceremony spot to happen but sometimes rain and wind decide that this Isn’t an option. By having a great plan b, It will make It easier to make this decision on the day. Your flowers and set up will be perfect, guests will be happy, everyone will be able to hear your beautiful vows and hair and makeup will stay in place for photos.
