Behind The Brand

What was the spark for One Fine Day? Where did your story begin?

One Fine Day was born from a love of design, details and creating weddings with impeccable results. Founded by Kath MacKenzie in Queenstown, New Zealand, One Fine Day began from humble beginnings in 2010 after noticing a gap in the market for a new offering combining wedding styling and wedding planning alike.

Prior to starting One Fine Day, Kath worked in a variety of roles across the event, travel and tourism industries over the past 20 years. Her proven relationships with quality professionals and her experience in the event industry sparked the desire to combine logistics and design with a focus on being dedicated to staying one step ahead of the rest, bringing new ideas and problem-solving. She is motivated and passionate about providing individuals with unforgettable experiences which have driven One Fine Day to continually develop offerings to meet the needs of our clients.

Over the years the business has grown into a large team of professionals who love what they do. Our services have been extended NZ wide and we have also launched our destination weddings overseas planning weddings in countries like Italy and Bali. We cannot wait for the world to open up again to get back to planning one of a kind destination weddings for our clients.

 

How would you describe your style when it comes to your products and services?

I would consider our style to be, romantic and organic. Nature and surroundings play such a big role in influencing our style whilst aiming to stay one step ahead of the rest, creating unique and individual styles for our couples.

 

What elements of a wedding do you help with?

Our services include wedding planning, wedding styling & design, wedding decor and furniture hire. We offer packages but also are happy to tailor services to suit your requirements.

 

What’s your best piece of advice for wedding and event planning?

The best piece of advice that I give couples is to think carefully about what aspects of the day are important to you both. This helps immensely with structuring a budget and narrowing down where to allocate this. Remember that when planning your wedding, the day is all about celebrating the two of you, so be authentic and true to yourself to create a day that reflects this, rather than following trends. My other piece of advice would be to book your favourite suppliers sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment as dates often book out quickly.

 

Where do you draw your creative inspiration from?

Other than wedding planning, travel and fashion are our next two favourite things. Our team loves to travel to destinations in NZ and worldwide, and draw our inspiration from the natural beauty and surroundings that each unique destination offers.

 

Do you travel or offer your services interstate/worldwide?

We sure do. We offer our wedding planning and styling services New Zealand-wide and internationally to selected destinations, and we love nothing more than travelling to exotic locations to help our couples marry!
