About Sarah & Sebastian
SARAH & SEBASTIAN is an ever-evolving body of work by collaborators Sarah Gittoes and Robert Sebastian Grynkofki. In a relentless pursuit to push design innovation with respect for traditional craftsmanship, the pair create directional jewellery of longevity and sentiment.
Born on opposites sides of the globe, Australia and Germany respectively, Gittoes and Grynkofki serendipitously met overseas whilst studying design. A partnership formed, they returned to Australia and founded their namesake brand SARAH & SEBASTIAN in 2012, pioneering the demi-fine jewellery category.
From day one Gittoes and Grynkofki have committed to operating a responsible company, both environmentally and socially. They have consciously chosen to minimise their impact by using recycled metals, ethically sourced stones and by locally manufacturing on a made-to-order basis to avoid unnecessary waste.
SARAH & SEBASTIAN has stores in Paddington and Mosman in Sydney and can be found globally in top tier boutiques and department stores including Lane Crawford (HK), Quiet Storms (NY), Moda Operandi (US), Goop (UK), Net-A-Porter (UK), David Jones (AU) and Harrolds (AU).
Behind The Brand
Describe the woman you design for…
There is no particular demographic as such that defines the woman we create for. We have always designed pieces that I personally love and want to wear myself and we bounce ideas off our team to garner other perspectives. The key motivation for us is designing for people who appreciate design and quality.
What is your most popular style for brides?
Our pearl pieces come to mind as they embody a refined sense of luxury and classicism. A statement pearl earring or fine head piece from our SIREN collection adds a modern touch to a bridal aesthetic.
What styling tips do you have for brides, bridesmaids and wedding guests wearing your jewelry?
A wedding is such an intimate experience for everyone involved, so we love pieces that are personal and will evoke memories of the day. Our Celestial collection is perfect for bridesmaids, with silhouettes that are understated and unique to each woman. When I’m a guest at a wedding, I love adding a sculptural earring to a minimalistic slip dress for subtle balance.
Do you offer a custom design service? If so, how long does it take to make a custom piece?
Our Co-Creation studio is our bespoke engagement service where our design team in collaboration with our clients create a personal engagement ring. Our design team can create beyond these limits if there is something truly sentimental the client wishes to execute. Our custom pieces take up to six weeks to produce.
Why we love it…
Luxurious, innovative and effortlessly chic – there’s a reason Sarah & Sebastian has fast become one of Australia’s most iconic jewelry labels.
For the woman…
For the modern woman with an innate appreciation for fashion, art and design who is also conscious of supporting ethically-focused brands.
Consider a minimal gown with an elegant silhouette and elevate with bold earrings. Let the jewelry be the statement.
