Behind The Brand

How would you describe your photography style?

My style is modern, clean and timeless. I have a soulful approach and create romantic images with an editorial edge.

What is it that makes an image magical?

Above all, moments of pure human connection always create magic. It may be a fleeting look between a couple, a warm embrace from a cherished relative or a gentle, loving touch. Raw, genuine, unabashed moments of connection always create the most emotion. The magic happens when people are at their most vulnerable and are totally swept up in the moment.

What advice would you give to the camera-shy couple?

Most of my couples tend to be fairly shy. My advice is to concentrate on each other and don’t worry about posing. Instead of thinking about it as a ‘photoshoot’, I always tell my couples to look at it as the special time of their wedding day that they get to spend time together alone. The rest of the day they will be surrounded by friends and family, but the shoot allows them time to slow down, hold each other and just soak in the euphoria of being married.

Do you travel interstate or internationally?

I love to travel and am available for weddings worldwide. As well as Perth and the South West, I have photographed throughout Australia, Indonesia and America.

As an estimate, how long does your editing process take?

My editing process takes 6 weeks. I carefully edit each image with my own signature style so that it best showcases every photo that is selected.

Describe a magical moment from a wedding you’ve photographed…

I have photographed so many beautiful weddings and moments. Some of my favourites have been watching fireworks sparkle over rice paddies in Bali, dancing down the streets of Florida with a 5 piece band and confetti canon bridal exits. However, one moment that will always stay with me was from a wedding here in Perth. The bride’s grandfather was terminally ill and wasn’t meant to be able to attend the wedding. With the help of his family, he made it to the ceremony as a surprise for the bride. I will never forget the way they embraced one another with tear-stained faces that day. It’s the little moments like these that really mean the most.
