Behind The Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

The initial spark for Tea Rose began from my profound passion for design.

I pursued this passion during my studies, and further honed my skills managing corporate events and product activations at premier design agencies in Sydney. To further deepen my design expertise, I completed a Master’s Degree in Arts where I grew an ambition to create my own brand, though I was uncertain about its specific focus at that time.

Eventually time passed on to my own wedding day and I fell in love with the process of conceptualizing every detail, from the venue to the smallest elements, and seeing it all come to life deepened my appreciation for creating meaningful and beautiful moments. Compliments from loved ones about my wedding sparked the creation of Tea Rose. Guided by my background in design, I was able to bring a wealth of expertise and a commitment to bring the utmost joy in people’s most precious moments in life into Tea Rose.

A guiding principle in my life has always been the pursuit of ‘great work’. It was only through Tea Rose that I truly understood the essence of this concept. Through my journey with Tea Rose, I’ve found that ‘great work’ is about doing what you love. Designing weddings and bringing my vision to life has become my passion, and the unparalleled joy it brings me is a testament to the fulfillment found in this endeavor.

What services do you offer couples?

At Tea Rose, we offer full design service and decoration team tailored to our client’s distinct style and preferences. Aside from that, the expertise of a wedding stylist is provided to meticulously curate every detail of the client’s wedding. In our services, we oversee all key elements of an event in-house, ensuring exceptional quality control and a seamless harmony between our vision and the client’s theme.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

Our aesthetic revolves around timeless design, as well as quiet and understated elegance. Monochromatic tones and muted neutral tones define our design approach. We embrace textures, lavish embellishments and painterly flower arrangements, such as loosely hung fabrics, statement chandeliers and cascading foliage.

As a planner or stylist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?

Currently, our inspiration is drawn from the simplicity of minimalist and modern design. We’re captivated by timeless monochrome tones where gentle shades of white to bold blacks create a sense of cohesion and sophistication, allowing each detail to stand out on its own. Another element that resonates with us is the delicate textures of ephemeral fabrics, inspired by the Lane’s blogs, especially designs by Mia Sylvia Herrod, which immediately evokes romance and softness to a wedding design.

What would you like to see less of?

Our style leans away from neon colors, overly ornate and gaudy designs along with artificial flower arrangements as we gravitate towards more organic and monochromatic palettes and textures, making use of the innate beauty of nature. We favor organically arranged fresh flowers for their natural charm, which elevate the overall wedding aesthetic.

A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?

One important piece of advice we’ve learned is to always stay true to yourselves as a couple throughout the wedding process. Although others may have varying opinions about certain aspects of your wedding like the design choices you want to make or the dress you want to choose, it’s crucial to stay true to your vision and embracing what truly resonates with you because at the end of the day, the most meaningful and memorable weddings are those that feels genuine and heartfelt.
