What does wellness mean to you?

Wellness is the way you live. In the everyday sense, wellness is knowing what makes you feel really good and making those things a priority. Good food, exercise, adequate sleep are all obvious things… but it’s also important to prioritise the little things we might brush off as silly, like doing your nails or taking 5 extra minutes in the morning to do your hair if those things are important to you. I think we can downplay how important little luxuries are. For me, wellness is about knowing yourself & what makes you feel good and making those things a priority.

 

What are your favorite beauty and wellness products and/or practices?

My favorite beauty practise is giving myself a manicure each Sunday for the week ahead. There is just something that happens to me and the way I feel when I have really good nails, it makes me feel put together and polished.

My favorite wellness practise is truly, meditation. I started meditating in 2013 and it has honestly changed my life, which is why I’m so driven to share it with women on their wedding mornings. Learning to tune into yourself and into your breath is such a subtle practise yet the ripple effect it has on every area of your life is just so powerful. It sounds like a cliche, but it’s the truth.

 

What are your most popular products and/ or services?

Our signature offering is wedding morning yoga and meditation. We also offer the evening before the wedding as another option, to promote restful sleep, which is growing in popularity. It’s the most rewarding feeling, seeing the look on a bride’s face at the end of our 60 minutes with her. She always looks relaxed, calm, and like she’s come home to herself. I get goosebumps when I think about it. It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to do for a woman on the day of her wedding. Truly.

 

What advice do you give to brides in the lead up to their wedding day?

I think women need to back themselves more (I’m talking to myself here, too). The lead up to a wedding day is stressful with decisions to be made, things to tick off the list and relationship dynamics to manage amongst our guest list. If we’re honest with ourselves, so many of those decisions are made in order to please other people. I wish women would have the bravery to make decisions that is in their best interest, more often. Particularly on a day that is in fact, all about her and her partner. So my advice would be to get clear on what it is YOU want for your special day and to have the courage to follow that.
