Inside the ancient walls of Blackfriars Medieval Priory comes an alluring moment of rustic beauty. Evoking a sense of enduring romance, Rebecca Marie Weddings & Events creates a setting spilling with texture and intrigue, an ode to the timeworn location and the history confined within.
Mimicking the moody ambience and crumbling facades of the aging monastery, natural textiles, handmade objects and delicate botanicals were layered in a desaturated palette of browns, blush and soft neutrals. With a desire to embrace the poetry of old and recreate it anew, this was a shoot thoughtfully styled, each detail captured through the lens of The Unbridled.
Atop a rustic table sat an unexpected centrepiece. Here, singular dried florals stretched upward from their concrete cradles, creating an elevated line further elongated by the tapered candlesticks dotted in between. Rugged stone fragments were set upon textured linens, fringed lanterns swung from above, and betwixt, crystal cut glassware in elegant shapes were interwoven to instil contrast.
“There is no necessity to choose a bold or bright colour scheme for your wedding day, a simple muted palette paired with layers of texture can be absolutely stunning, luxurious and romantic…” – Rebecca Marie
For the second setting, fresh garden roses and trailing vines were entwined amongst artisan ceramics, hand-painted stationery and brass decor. Romantic arrangements of white blooms climbed the crumbling facades, framing the space in an enchanting mood.
“This sort of look is totally achievable on a larger scale, introducing aspects such as natural materials, lots of fabric and beautiful ceramic pieces can completely transform the look of your styling.” – Rebecca Marie
