Timelessly Elegant & Intimate – A Wedding in Yorkshire
Set on the grounds of the Yorkshire countryside, a ceremony with seemingly untouched florals and a tablescape in muted tones was timelessly elegant yet potently intimate.
Nestled within the Yorkshire countryside, with only the sound of wandering lambs in the distance, a poetic spring wedding was set on the grounds of a grand 16th-century estate. Potently elegant yet intimate in mood, a monotone tablescape was ser with white linen draped onto the dark timber floor beneath imposing portraits, statues and chandeliers.
A sculptural cake reflected the wedding’s essence balancing strength and delicacy. Seemingly untouched, delicate white flowers and green foliage enveloped the ceremony and building’s entrance, cutting through the 500-year-old architecture and inviting a sense of calmness. Designed by Styling Love UK to infuse a space with the power of heritage, art and architecture collided to accentuate the evening.
The wedding was poetically captured by Natalie Pluck.
“The concept was inspired by the beauty of being fully present, savoring the unique experiences, and the convergence of all elements in one space.”
“The florals were kept delicate, light and airy to contrast the strength of the architectural grandeur – all dotted by the ethereal clear glass and infatuating light that came through.”
“When thinking of an event, create moments of light that make you stop and be still.”
Styling Love UK’s Tips
- Work with the venue immersing yourself in it and blend the elements with it not against it. Take time to look around, and hero the way you feel in it to create your wedding’s mood board.
- Blend traditional, heritage features and elements (old cutlery, furniture and the venue setting itself) with simplicity and contemporary elegance to create a stylish and elegant tablescape for the modern bride. This will ensure the look is timeless rather than traditional.
- Notice where the light falls through the windows and onto floor. Position items to infuse light and the elegance it brings. Use glass to spill light across the table.
- Use different but complimenting candle styles and heights (especially with high ceilings).
