Behind The Brand
What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?
Founded by two best friends, Behind the Vows began as a shared passion that took root when we styled each other’s weddings. The experience revealed how much we loved the creative process and the joy of bringing a vision to life. What started as a personal project soon evolved into a deeper calling, one we decided to pursue professionally. Since then, we’ve dedicated ourselves to turning meaningful moments into beautifully curated celebrations.
What services do you offer couples?
At the core of our work lies creative styling, crafting distinctive concepts and thoughtfully directing every visual element to form a cohesive, story-driven aesthetic. Each detail is designed to reflect the essence of your love story.
While weddings remain our primary focus, our styling expertise extends to engagements, pre-wedding photoshoots, bridal showers, and other meaningful celebrations. Whatever the occasion, we approach each moment with intention, creativity, and refined artistry.
How would you describe your aesthetic?
We’d love to see less of trend-led designs and the tendency to play it safe. While trends can offer inspiration, they often lead to weddings that feel more like copies than personal celebrations. We also notice a growing pattern where something bold or different gains attention, only to be repeated until it loses meaning. We wish more couples would trust the creative process and lean into what feels authentic to them. The most memorable celebrations happen when clients allow us to create something that’s truly theirs, not just what’s already been done.
As a planner or stylist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?
The worlds of art and fashion, especially large-scale installations, set design, and runway shows. There’s something captivating about how these mediums play with form, space, and texture. We love drawing from those elements to create wedding experiences that feel elevated, thoughtfully styled, and emotionally engaging.
What would you like to see less of?
Our aesthetic is rooted in story-driven design, where every visual element is considered and thoughtfully composed to reflect the couple’s personality. We gravitate toward a refined, modern sensibility with subtle contrasts and layered textures. It’s a balance of structure and softness: elegant, yet never overly polished; artistic, but always grounded in meaning. For us, beauty lies in the quiet details that speak volumes.
A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?
Listen to your heart and stay true to what feels right for you. Don’t feel pressured by trends or outside opinions, this day is about you and your story. The most beautiful celebrations are the ones that feel honest, personal, and deeply yours.
