Whisper-silent, soft, and at one with the earth, Kristina’s style is, as she puts it, “somewhat of a prayer.” She muses, “I’ve always been drawn to simplicity, but not for minimalism’s sake. My inspiration comes from the Creator – the ultimate source of beauty and purpose.” For Kristina, every facet of life – design, living, or dressing – is infused with intention. “I strive to inspire others to reconnect with their core, to discover their essence. Simplicity isn’t just a design choice; it’s a way to remove distractions and focus on what truly matters. It’s about depth, creating space for authenticity, and living with purpose.”
Her living spaces reflect her philosophy in every detail. Textured plaster walls speak of time and imperfection, while a simple mattress rests on the stone floor, draped in soft, natural linens. In an archway, a dress crafted from raw, natural materials hangs like a quiet statement of her ethos – meaningful and always in tune with nature. She grew up in the German countryside, but spent many years in Switzerland. She now divides her time between worlds, grounding herself in the mountains (la douce Suisse), by the lake (her latest house project in Northern Italy on Lake Lugano), or the sea (her favorite Spanish island). Soon, another chapter begins – she’s in the process of buying a château in the South of France, a place that will become her new creative base. A space for quiet transformation, where nature takes center stage. “In nature is where I feel most at home. I love the serenity, the connection to animals, and the quiet beauty of the surroundings.”
In Switzerland, she draws inspiration from the clean lines and refined simplicity of its culture. “There’s an elegance in simplicity that resonates with me.” Mallorca, with its warm Mediterranean tones and artisanal traditions, reflects the organic, soulful side of her aesthetic. Both places fuel her creative endeavors, Mocha, La Maison du Rêveur as well as her design studio, ÆND Studio.
How does her style translate to… a table setting?
“My table settings embrace raw elegance – simple linen tablecloths, handmade ceramics, and inviting, organic arrangements. Nothing too symmetrical. I love the art of bread-making; a fresh loaf adds a personal, tactile touch. Candles are a big yes, bringing warmth and intimacy to the table, making every gathering feel alive and meaningful.”
How does her style translate to… occasion wear?
“For special occasions, I gravitate toward timeless, elegant pieces. My palette leans toward soft whites that highlight the quality and cut of the garment, paired with understated golden jewelry. Dresses are either flowing, princess-like whites or sleek, elegant blacks – there’s no in-between. Shoes stay simple: classic ballet flats or high heels, depending on the mood.”
How does her style translate to… the home
”My home reflects my love for nature, simplicity, and craftsmanship. Natural light, raw materials, and a tone-in-tone palette create a calming, alive space. Each piece – handmade ceramics, textured rugs – has meaning. Inspired by the simplicity of Japanese architecture, the grandeur of Napoleon-era French interiors, Scandinavian clean lines, and Florence’s artistry, it serves as both a sanctuary and a showcase for artisans’ work.”
