Behind The Brand

What was the spark for beginning the brand?

Alyssa Kristin was born out of the frustrations of a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) like myself searching for a wedding dress. While working at Ernst & Young, I got engaged and was excited to start dress shopping but quickly realized that nothing felt like me – everything was over-the-top, overpriced, and made overseas. After trying on nearly 200 dresses, I decided to take matters into my own hands (quite literally) and make my own dress. Shortly after, I started Alyssa Kristin, a minimal bridal line for the modern bride who deserves to have it all.

What inspires you creatively?

The women who wear our dresses – we want the bride to take center stage and her gown be a supporting role. With a less is more approach, our gowns are both understated and refined, intentionally designed to highlight the bride’s best features and let her shine

A favorite quote or piece of advice that inspires your creative work?

“Nothing looks more striking on a woman than confidence”, has been our North Star since day one.

What advice can you give to brides when shopping for their dress?

When you know, you know. Drown out the noise and go with what makes you feel best.

What are you drawn to in bridal right now? And what would you love to see less of?

We are loving brides wearing multiple looks – there can be so much pressure around finding ‘the dress’ that sometimes an outfit change can be freeing, not confining you to just one bridal box. I’m a less is more girl myself, but sometimes you just want to be a little ‘extra’ and a second look is the perfect way to do so.
