About Andrea Corsi Photographer

I am an Italian wedding photographer based in Tuscany. I know this may sound like a cliché, but I truly love my job. I adore authentic people who are not afraid to show their true personality, their feelings, and their happiness in front of my camera.

Behind The Brand

What draws you to wedding photography?

I am drawn to the infinite facets that characterize people on their wedding day. Anxiety, fear, happiness, emotion, and many other aspects of human nature emerge clearly and powerfully on such an important day. Being able to photograph them is one of the most beautiful things, and it is perhaps the first thing that made me love this job.

How would you describe your photography style?

It is very difficult to describe the style of a wedding photographer because if by style we mean the aesthetic aspect of our photos, these are inevitably always evolving, tied to the changing times and the tastes of the couples. It is obvious that the tastes of today’s couples are aesthetically different from those I photographed 10 years ago. What has never changed for me, however, is the approach, which is to try to tell a story that includes all the human, and also aesthetic, aspects that characterize a wedding. I am not an intrusive photographer, and I always try to work by intervening as little as possible to leave the situations that arise on such an important day unaltered. The vast majority of my work is documentary in nature, always striving not to lose sight of minimalism and the aesthetics of photography; capturing a moment also requires good aesthetics. A small part is editorial, but even in that case, I try not to interfere too much with the couple to capture natural moments nonetheless.

What inspires you creatively?

When I started many years ago, my inspirations were the great photographers of history, foremost among them Elliott Erwitt. Of course, they were not wedding photographers, but they were still a unique aesthetic and inspirational source for me. Over time, one realizes that inspiration is tied to one’s own sensitivity and to what one can see or not see. Another aspect that fascinates me and certainly influences my inspiration is the incredible light we have at certain times here in Tuscany. Sometimes there are incredible light patterns that cannot fail to capture a photographer’s imagination.

What is it that makes an image magical?

An image is magical when it captures the perfect aesthetics in the perfect moment. But dwelling on this statement also makes one wonder what a magical moment is… For some, it may be a beautiful pose, a glance; for others, it might be an embrace, a stolen kiss. In the end, what matters, and what truly makes an image magical, is the emotional impact it has on the viewer. If this impact is there and it is strong, then the goal has been achieved.

What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?

Certainly, the first piece of advice is always to ask to see several full album galleries from real weddings delivered, and never to rely solely on an Instagram feed, which often represents only a small part of a photographer’s work. I would also advise them to make sure that the photographer they actually see, with their works and galleries, is the one who will actually be shooting their wedding, especially in the case of contacts with photography studios that contain multiple photographers. Lastly, and not least in importance, when you look at photographs, try to imagine yourselves in those photos, and try to understand, even if it’s not always easy, if the photographer’s personality aligns with yours.

Your dream location to shoot a wedding?

It’s always difficult to establish a preference, especially when you live in such a beautiful country like Italy, and especially in a region as famous as Tuscany. I would say that shooting in this country is already an immense privilege and is, objectively, a dream. Just to connect it to your question.
