Behind The Brand

Your best advice for honeymoon/vacation planning?

When you come to La Residencia prepare to unwind. You might make plans beforehand, but be advised that in many cases, people cancel their plans once they arrive at this oasis and simply go with the flow.

We can certainly assist you with bookings and reservations for all kinds of activities and give you many useful tips, but sometimes it’s easier to get a feel for the place first before making major decisions.

What you could decide beforehand is whether you want to rent a car or not, depending on how adventurous you are. Some people don’t leave the property during their entire stay whilst others love to explore the beautiful island. There is always the possibility to have a rental car brought to the hotel at a later stage as well.

What can couples expect to see and experience when staying at Belmond La Residencia?

Couples can expect a haven of peace, magnificent views and a laid-back ambience. Deià is the artistic hub of the island, the hotel has a rustic-chic style with a casual atmosphere. Guests usually feel spoiled and very well looked after by our staff.

Honeymooners can expect special surprises in their rooms, enjoy the peacefulness of this remote place but still be astonished by the offer of activities and culinary options in both the hotel and surroundings.

At Belmond La Residencia you experience an approachable type of luxury, a personal touch, excellent cuisine, a true connection with nature, an art related ambience all around.

There are multiple activities to choose from at the hotel like art classes, cooking classes, Yoga, Mindfulness, etc. We also have tennis courts, a gym and a lovely Spa.

The hotel itself can be very romantic for honeymooners. There are many intimate corners or beautiful paths to stroll on, the village itself is incredibly picturesque, the mountain range magnificent. El Olivo Restaurant glows in candle light every night with fresh, red roses on the tables, we have an adults-only pool for couples to withdraw to and the Spa offers couple treatments.

The most special treat for a couple would be to have a romantic dinner at our viewpoint (Mirador) in our olive grove. A table for you with your very own waiter and chef, accompanied by live music and candle light while watching the sun set over the ocean.

What advice do you have in terms of packing?

A good book to while away the hours by the pool. Decent walking shoes if you want to explore the area and walk down to the bay of Deià for a swim or a lovely lunch at the famous, down-to-earth restaurant Cas Patró March. Don’t forget your swimming gear and also pack something to dress up in for a romantic night out.

What’s the best time of year to visit?

The hottest months are June, July and August but I personally love May for the abundance of flowers and smells. September and October are a little less busy but also still gorgeous weather wise – you can usually swim until the end of October!

Describe a perfect day when staying at Belmond La Residencia?

Enjoy your ample breakfast on the beautiful terrace taking in the magnificent mountain views. Depending on the weather – lounge by the pool, stroll up into the olive grove to greet our donkeys, or unwind in the Spa.

Alternatively, you could sign up for our complimentary boat trip and explore the beautiful coast line.

For lunch you could hike down to the picturesque bay and have a refreshing swim in the ocean before tasting incredibly fresh fish in the little restaurant sat on the rocks.

Fancy an art class in the afternoon? Or are you more the sporty type and want to sign up for a tennis match or a gym session? You are spoiled for choice. Stroll around the enchanting village, stumble across art studios, enjoy the view from the small church on the hill…

Towards the evening make sure to have an “aperitivo” in the magical late afternoon light and then round off your perfect day with a romantic dinner at El Olivo.
