Behind The Brand
What draws you to wedding photography?
Photography, for me, is a way to find beauty in life’s quiet, often overlooked moments. It’s about capturing the connection between people, the way the light dances around them, and the movement that tells a story only they can tell. I’ve always been a romantic at heart and a quiet observer – I love watching how people react, how nature embraces them, how relationships unfold in the glow of the world around them.
Wedding photography, in particular, feels like magic. It lets me step into the unique connections that make every celebration extraordinary. Ever since I was a kid, flipping through old photo albums with my grandparents, I’ve been captivated by the idea of preserving moments. Those photos weren’t just images; they were little time machines, transporting me to a specific day, to feelings I wasn’t even there to experience. That magic never left me, and now I get to create it for others.
How would you describe your photography style?
My photography style is a heartfelt mix of editorial artistry and documentary storytelling, sometimes imperfect because the emotions that I capture are more important than the sharpness of the photo. I focus on capturing the raw beauty of human connection, using light, movement, and emotion to create timeless images filled with meaning. I strive to make every shot feel natural and unscripted, allowing the most intimate and genuine moments to shine. My approach is romantic and artistic, celebrating each couple’s unique story and turning their day into a collection of unforgettable memories. Clients often tell me that my warm, personable nature helps them feel at ease, so they can fully relax and be themselves in front of my lens.
What inspires you creatively?
Creativity comes to me from so many places, each sparking something unique in my work. Films and the stories my couples share about themselves are at the heart of it. I’m endlessly inspired by icons like Richard Avedon, whose simplicity and curves speak volumes, and Sarah Moon, Paolo Roversi, and Robert Doisneau, who play with movement and raw emotion in ways that resonate deeply with me. I even collect my favorite photos in MyMind to revisit their magic.
Beyond photography, nature’s patterns and movement captivate me, while street photography lets me observe and capture the beauty in everyday moments. Food photography, with its dance of light and shadow, teaches me the art of contrast, and music envelops me with emotions that flow straight into my work. Every note, every image, every small detail fuels my creativity and passion for storytelling.
What is it that makes an image magical?
An image becomes magical when it feels like more than just a photograph; it’s a feeling, a memory, a heartbeat frozen in time. It’s in the way light spills across a face, soft and delicate, or bold and moody, drawing your eyes to a hidden story. It’s in the shadows that hold the whispers of what’s left unsaid.
It’s the stillness of a stolen glance, the rawness of a laugh that escapes unguarded, or the way two hands, almost touching, carry the weight of a million promises. Magic lives in authenticity – in moments unscripted and human, where love, joy, or longing dance beneath the surface.
A magical image doesn’t just show you something; it pulls you into it. It makes you feel the sun on your skin, the chill in the air, the thunder of emotions that filled the room. It’s not about perfection. It’s about resonance. An image becomes magical when it reminds you that life, in all its imperfections, is utterly beautiful.
What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?
The wedding photographer is the person who will be by your side more than anyone else on your wedding day. They’ll witness your most intimate moments, from the quiet jitters before you say “I do” to the laughter and tears shared with your loved ones. It’s so important that this person not only reassures you but also makes you feel truly amazing. You want someone who sees you for who you really are, yet also captures something deeper in you, something you may not even see in yourself.
My advice is simple: don’t get swept up in trends or what’s popular at the moment. Instead, search for “something more.” Look for that unexplainable feeling you get when you see a photographer’s work, and even more importantly, when you meet them as a person. A connection to their personality is just as vital as your love for their style.
Choosing a photographer you resonate with on a personal level can transform your entire wedding experience. When you feel at ease and understood, it allows them to capture moments that are raw, honest, and uniquely yours. It’s in those moments that real magic happens. A wedding captured by someone who truly sees you will always hold a special place in your heart.
Your dream location to shoot a wedding?
There are so many dream locations where I’d love to photograph a wedding! Unique and breathtaking places with palm trees instantly capture my imagination. I’m drawn to settings with striking architecture and vibrant colours that add depth and personality to a wedding’s story. Palais Bulles, with its bold and futuristic design, and the tranquil beauty of Amanjena are at the top of my list. Villas in Tuscany, where dining takes place outdoors under olive trees, and the elegance of French chateaus are equally enchanting. And, of course, a wedding on a sandy beach surrounded by tropical palms would be a dream to capture.
Venice and Lake Como also hold an incredibly special place in my heart. I had the privilege of photographing a wedding at Villa Cipressi and Villa del Balbianello, and I completely fell in love with the serene yet vibrant energy of the area. Every corner felt like a scene from a masterpiece, and the atmosphere was simply unforgettable. Venice, too, has left a deep impression on me. I visited in March seven years ago, and those quiet canals, soft light, and undeniable magic stole my heart. There’s something about these Italian locations that feels timeless, like they’re meant for the most awe-inspiring love stories.
These are just a few of the places that inspire me, but in truth, the world is filled with endless beauty. It’s this sense of adventure and discovery that excites me most. Wherever love takes you, I’m ready to meet you there and turn your dream location into an unforgettable story.
Editor’s Notes
Why we love it…
We love how deliberate Bernadeta’s frames are – light on excess, heavy on tone. She favors natural light, soft focus, and the kind of compositions that move. Fabric in motion, a flash of profile, the geometry of a room at golden hour. She’s less interested in perfect poses, more in what unfolds between them. The result is a body of work that’s clean, emotive, and thoroughly transportive.
For the couple…
For the couple who understands that elegance lives in the edit. Bernadeta brings a refined, observational approach – equal parts candid and composed. Her images feel grounded in place and season: terracotta tones, windswept hair, the gleam of late-afternoon light on glass. This is wedding photography stripped of theatrics, rich in detail, and confident in its simplicity.
