Behind The Brand

What draws you to wedding photography?

I’ve been a wedding photographer for more than 20 years now, and for me the emotional significance of wedding photography combined with storytelling are the keys to continue doing what I do.

Weddings are significant life events, always filled with emotion and human connections, capturing these moments is all about documenting the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Weddings are like stories unfolding and we as photographers have the privilege of telling that story through our lenses. There’s always a narrative to be captured and to be able to craft a cohesive and beautiful visual story is absolutely the best.

How would you describe your photography style?

The easy answer is: my photography style is the way I see the world, I think that sums it up. I don’t want to feel trapped into one style, I want to make sure my work is evolving and therefore my priority is to make sure my couples get the best possible outcome.

What inspires you creatively?

Creativity can be inspired by various factors such as experiences, emotions, simple observations and of course, the world around us. It’s always a complex interplay of internal and external influences that makes me feel inspired.

It’s about being aware of everything around me and how I respond to those influences.

What is it that makes an image magical?

What one person finds magical, another may not, and the diversity of interpretation is part of what makes imagery so fascinating. However for me personally is about the emotional impact and the personal connection.

What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?

Trust your instinct. When photographer and couple meet, and there’s immediate chemistry between them, there’s really no other way to go.

Your dream location to shoot a wedding?

I’ve been lucky enough to travel all five continents to shoot weddings and I know that there are still so many hidden gems to photograph weddings in. But, honestly, for me any location is a dream, you just have to take advantage of what is in front of you and capture it.
