By Lara is a boutique design and planning studio dedicated to crafting distinctive weddings and events with a refined aesthetic. Each design is a testament to our commitment to artistry and individuality, making every celebration as visually captivating as it is meaningful. While Toronto is our home base, we work globally, with events successfully orchestrated in stunning locations such as Boston, San Francisco, New York, Hawaii, and Thailand.

Behind The Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

It all started with my lifelong passion for aesthetics and my deep inspiration from fine art and design. While planning my own wedding and assisting friends with theirs, I noticed a gap in the industry for a design-driven and highly personalized approach that celebrates each couple’s unique style, free from traditional and uninspired conventions. I believe true beauty lies in refinement and thoughtfulness. And so, here we are – creating a space for those who share this vision of thoughtful, artful, and heartfelt celebrations.

What services do you offer couples?

We offer full-service event design and planning, along with design-forward services, guiding couples from concept to execution.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

Our aesthetic is an eclectic blend of artful minimalism and refinement. Each design is carefully curated to be timeless, intentional, and a genuine reflection of the couple’s essence.

As a planner or stylist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?

Our top priority is understanding our clients – their stories, personalities, and visions. People are, after all, the ultimate source of inspiration. From there, we draw on the world around us – nature, fashion, architecture, and cultural influences – blending these elements to craft something truly unique and meaningful.

What would you like to see less of?

I’d like to see less of forced trends that may go viral but don’t truly reflect a couple’s authentic vision. Luxury is often mistaken for ‘more is better’, but without intention and thoughtful curation, it loses its essence and feels disconnected from meaningful design.

A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?

Trust your instincts and select vendors who truly understand your vision and can bring it to life. Allow your vendors to do what they do best, so you can relax and enjoy every moment of your day.
